Joke thread or not. I agree with it. This casual gaming era is destroying the market with trash games with no future. Kinect like stated is nothing mroe than a glorified over-priced eye toy. I don't believe the Wii is causing the destruction of the gaming world though. I believe that is more of the developers/publishers fault due to wanting to make quick and easy (also shitty) games.

I have seen Wii, Kinect, and even Move in action. I'm not going to lie at the current time i'm not a big fan of any of them due to them mainly catering an audience that is completely 180 degress opposite of me on the gaming spectrum line. Though out of ANY of them I see Move having the biggest potential due to the diverse line-up Sony will provide as well as the accuracy and precision of the product.

Wii is great for certain games don't get me wrong. Kinect is a cool "tech." Though the current line-up sucks a horses ass. The lag combined with the boring routines of already released re-hashed games (excluding dance central) isn't cutting it. Now the product is still in its infancy and people once stated the PS3 had shit software so maybe in time it will get better. I just don't see myself buying one unless there is an AMAZING killer app. I don't find doing repeated actions over and over fun, and I don't find getting my picture taken *cute*.

These casuals are eventually going to get over the fact that motion controls exist. Then they will leave or stop playing. As shown by the frequent buying Wii and shelfing it statement.

The difference is the Wii has, and will keep selling both hardware and software. Kinect on the other hand is only selling hardware, not so much software. And soon the hardware sales will follow the poor software sales if Kinect doesn't get some killer aps.

KINECT is selling plenty of software for a new device....don't try to say its not because it is.

Not in my view it's not. If you throw out Kinect Adventures, which is bundled with the hardware and thus sells by default with Kinect hardware, you have a whopping TWO games that have/will pass 1 million. 2 games out of 16 that will break a million. Most will struggle to reach 500k. This week there were 3 Kinect games in the top 50 WW, and the two non bundled games were #20 at the highest. 0 titles in this months NPD..The Udraw games are outselling most Kinect games..

And this was during Kinect's LAUNCH, during the holiday season..

But then again, can you really expect games like Your Shape Fitness, Joyride, Deca Sports, Game Party, And Sonic Freeriders to sell? These types of games didn't sell on Wii, a console with 80 million users, so I don't know why people expect them to sell on a peripheral with 4 million users..

If these games can't even sell NOW, how in the world does anyone expect them to sell during the slow periods of next year? Even NSMB, GT5, and Black Ops will be selling pretty low numbers at that point.

I'm merely using logic here.

Its been only one month, how many people will actually buy a lot of games in one month? Although people have to agree that the software line-up is week currently. 17 or so games which has like five genres, sports, dance, workout and fighting. There is kinectimals and auto-ride.

Whatever, Kinect is kicking the ps move's ass anyways. Thats all that matters, right?

Nope, because the X360 will end third all the same.

Kinect is doing very well and so is the Move. You have to remember though that sony didn't spend probably 1/50th of advertising on Move then MSFT did with Kinect so Sony is doing VERY WELL.

"Everyone likes to call the Wii a mere party machine that people only get out of the closet when friends are over, but how is Kinect any different?"

Not really, no.  Except there's a fully featured, current gen console that its attached to called the Xbox 360 that people will continue to play when the parties over and most of the Kinect games get put away.

But then I read the rest of your rant and your hopeless bias against Microsoft is hopeless.  Have a nice life.

Hey, at least I didn't compare Kinect to the Sega 32X like some other dude. You have to give me credit for that.

I stand by that comparison.  32X, though, was obviously not NEAR as successful as Kinect (don't even know if a million 32X's were sold lifetime) nor as ambitious.  Hopeless bias against Microsoft is hopeless.

Kinect beeing "a new gaming experiance" and good advertising are the key factors for Kinect's success. The boost from those key factors won't last forever so MS needs to build up a solid game library for Kinect. If they can make those games in time I see a bright future ahead for Kinect.

But they need to make them in time! I'm sure Nintendo will advertise the 3DS as the next "must have gadget" to disrupt the Kinect momentum.
