This depends do you prefer the Sonic franchise over the Donkey Kong Country one?
If your a Sonic fan then Colours beats DKC:R hands down. DKC:R is very difficult it will take you dozens to hundreds of deahts to beat. Sonic Colours gives you the best of Sonic:Adventures and the classics on one disc. I'd have to say Colours has single handedly returned Sonic to his former glory.
Now if your a DKC fan then you will prefer DKC:R. DKC:R is missing most animal buddies but what it lacks it makes up with killer gameplay. As stated above DKC will have you swearing your head off as you die yet again. The difficulty places it even harder then any of the DKC titles. You'll be playing this one awhile before you beat it.
Both are AAA games, I happen to love both DKC and Sonic equally so both titles are amazing. But your taste in platformers is what differentiates these two titles.
