Maybe.  But this can be a real legit gaming concept for Kinect.  Besides blocking and catching things, have your avatar having to do the same things like in this gif.  But yeah, it's an awesome gif.

edit: but yeah, that would be a sweet game. I think there was a much more simple (and not interactive) minigame for Wii play that was like that.

Namco, which also did Katamari and also Numi Numi Boy (?) did this.  it is what you see.  It is a game where you do poses quickly so you can keep up and eventually tackle the Handegg player who stole the protein power.  You pose with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck I believe.  As seem in the original post, it is in keeping with Japanese game shows.  I personally think the whole nuttiness of the presentation is cool.
