The PS3 cannot, as evidence by the slowdown and abundant screen tearing in GT5.

Besides, most gamers would rather race 8 current generation cars than 1 current gen car and 15 PS2-HD cars. i'm 84 percent positive.

 

On topic, of course MS/T10 are feeling bullish, they said Forza 3 would be the definitive racing game on consoles. Forza 4 looks like it's going to be definitiver.

Do you no you didn't make any sense? as you can have 16 premium cars running together...

And FM3 don't have last gen cars because Xbox shouldn't even come to existance.

What I find real shocking in this thread is that people still cant come to grips that the Forza series has equaled the GT series in quality dare I say even surpassed it with this gen in particular.......the reactions in this thread are just the same as they were back in 2009 when GT5 was herald to be jokingly"definitive".......its not 2009 anymore atleast last I checked....microsoft seems to have not gotten the memo because they dont have to do any PR pushing given the equality of both series....

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Forza isn't in the same league as GT regardless of meta, but what really bothers me is that these arguments here just have no intelligent discussions behind them. It's all about who has the better meta and/or sales, and that sort of rubbish belongs on youtube, not a respectable gaming forum.

At least discuss what makes the game better, or where the game is lacking. But I guess that's asking for too much.

Whatever.  If Forza 4 was as good as they say and they had confidence in it, they would have released it head to head with Sony's franchise instead of waiting a year (or more).  Gran Turismo wouldn't do that!

By the way.. peple are confused when microsoft says most realistic... they say that referring to the fact that you use kinect to feel like your really driving lollll...

Um....isn't Xbox360 more powerful than the PS3 in the first place?  I thought it was proven by this independent study done by IGN!!!

Regardless, I do expect Forza 4 to bring fierce competition (although I don't expect it to match GT5 in sheer content).

Im glad you see that both these racing genres are in the same league but sadly you are in the minority. The undertone you get from reading this thread is that "The possibility that a forza game could be better than a GT game is a load of crock....good luck PD....lol"......that is an ignorant thought....and will we met with ignorant retorts.

I think it will be great to see what they come up with, with Forza 4.  So far, the series has been steadily improving with every new games.  They do approach the quality of GT games, that's for sure (and for many people here, it even surpasses them).  I do like the Kinect features they have planned for the game.  But they're pretty much nothing but superficial elements (I'm talking about the looking around the car stuff), and as such they could get old quite fast. And I'm certainly not interested in driving using Kinect.

If they improve the physics, make the game look more lifelike (I think the games have an arcade racer look), put more cars in there and maybe even some nice car nuts centric features similar to the Museum in GT5, and most importantly,  have the G27 be compatible with it (do something, anything, about that dammit!!), then I would certainly consider buying it.
