Forums - Microsoft - Good games for a five year old?

is he getting the 360 for any reason besides his kid?

if yes then i would say all the lego games , and kung fu panda. I got it in a bundle ,and its not that bad for a movie-based game. Sonic tennis and sonic racing all stars or whatever its called are probably good options too but i haven't played them.

If no. Then i would tell him to at least consider the wii.

I am a nintendo fan, not a nintendo fanboy

A pastor? Hmm...

Dante's Inferno

I would suggest Wii but Telus is giving him the 360 free for installing wireless internet. He said he was thinking of getting him a Wii but thought the X-Box being free would be better. He knows absolutely nothing about games and other then Kinectimals and Joy Ride and Adventures I couldn't really think of any good games a five year old should play.

As for coddeling him. Personally I don't think a five year old should be playing anything over E rating. Their are more then enough child friendly games on the Wii. I know some kids grew up with violent games but I think that ruins childrens innocence. Not to mention he is a pastor and getting his kid Mortal Kombat or something would not really go so well with his beliefs.

So basically what I'm hearing is the 360 only really has Lego games when appealing to children?

He could always trade the 360 for a Wii without any problems. ;)

Buying Kinect for some games will cost him just about as much as a Wii...

Need something off Play-Asia? http://www.play-asia.com/

Tell him to get KINECT with kinectimals, Joy Ride, and any of the Lego games.

I would say Kienct Adventures and Kinectamals for sure, especially Kinectamals.  That game is like crack for kids.

If he doesn't want to get a Kinect, the Lego games are generally a win.

Get Kinect, kids can even play Kinect Sports.  Kinect Adventures, Kinectimals and Kinect Sports....trust me, the kid will love it.

As someone previously mentioned, while he gets the 360 for free, Kinect will set him back by $150... So he might as well buy now one of the Wii bundles that come with 2 games AND a coupon (I think).

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

Well the already suggested Lego games and Kinect games. I was gonna say Mini Ninjas but I just watched a trailer and it's more violent than I had originally thought, all those cute animals and sounds had me fooled. I suspect that there are quite a few downloadable titles but I don't allow kiddie games in my house. My kids are only allowed to play innocence ruining mature games.

Kinect seems perfect though as well as Wii. Maybe as someone else said, he can sell/trade the Xbox for a Wii. The more I think of it a Wii seems a far better choice in a pastor's home.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Surely the Pastor must've heard about the Wii and their family games so clearly he really wants the 360 so he can shoot it up in Halo and Black Ops.

...a real Pastor should buy a PS2 and The Bible Game lol
