Because they want to make money. By giving you a gift card to their store. they are getting their money back. The product you are getting is cheaper then what you are actually paying for. So it's still a win for Amazon, Wal-Mart, whoever, when they give away a gift card. If they took if off the system, you benefit, but the retailer doesn't. lol!!
