the sand in UC3 and the snow in KZ3 makes the whole thread, and the rest is just filler and its the best kind hands down. the best dev's have out done them selvies, and i don't think anything will look better then GEARS on 360, but i welcome other dev's to prove me wrong.
my pic would have to be KZ3! you made the choice to hard CGI.

snfr said: We know you hate everything PS3 related, you don't have to show it to us every time. You're one of the reasons why this thread was derailed, think about it... Claiming in your first post that the ME3 trailer was in-engine (which it clearly wasn't) and then complaining about CGI using an in-engine pic of Uncharted 3 is completely ridiculous. I doubt that you have ever played UC2. If you had you would know that there isn't any visible difference between cutscenes and actual gameplay in Uncharted 2. But keep on hating if you must... I'm actually laughing at you, not jneul.
That was deliberate. I was seeing if the Topic Creator was biased, since he showed a pre-rendered pic of uncharted i figured they were fair game, but apparently it's not ok if you use a much better looking image. As I suspected, the TC starts making up inocuous "roolz".

Speak for yourself. If you can't see any difference in the following screenshot, i'd guess it's because you don't want to.

No, you have no concept of what the terms mean. Pre-rendered = Not rendered at run time. CGI itself only stands for Computer Generated Image(ry). As in an image generated by a computer. This is a very broad term and mistpresented often. Any computer game you play with graphics of any kind is Computer Generated Imagery.

LoL, you didn't get my point as it seems. I didn't say there isn't any difference, I said you don't see it, and you don't see it because you will never see Drake's face so close if it isn't a cutscene. You probably won't do the same type of comparison for a 360 or multiplatform game, as it looks better than any PS3 game anyway, right? Considering your post history it's obvious. :/
I still don't get what you're trying to desperately prove here. Not that you only complain about CGI's choice of pics and derailed the thread, you also try to bad-mouth Uncharted 2's graphics. Dude, it was the best looking game of 2009, you probably haven't even played it, so this discussion is completely nonsense.
Buy a PS3, put down your bias, play Uncharted 2, then come back and discuss properly. (Just for you to know: I have all three consoles, I like them all, and I don't bad-mouth games that I don't like or didn't play, so...)
Btw, I still think it's funny that you claimed that the ME3 trailer is in-engine...

Actually this quote singles you out as quite dim, to a point where you even try to defy definition. a prefix occurring originally in loanwords from Latin, where it meant “before” ( preclude; prevent ); applied freely as a prefix, with the meanings “prior to,” “in advance of,” “early,” “beforehand,” “before,” “in front of,” and with other figurative meanings ( preschool; prewar; prepay: preoral; prefrontal ).
Too many to list, but this is the most relevant one
to represent; depict, as in painting: to render a landscape.
Something pre-rendered = Rendered beforehand. So you're suggesting that all of Uncharted (either game) cutscenes are not pre-rendered, then they must be rendered at run time and then written to BD Roms (which again, isn't possible since no retail PS3 has a blu-ray writer)

You're comparing a pic from U2 multiplayer.
Naughty Dog himself already stated that the model of Drake IT'S THE SAME in the cutscenes and actual gameplay.
Here's my source:

Post º 20:
"Drake however never gets LOD.. except for multiplayer.. but single player is the high resolution model the whole time.. same model that is in the cinematics."
Have you mentioned Skyrim yet?
We will know in 3 weeks when the first screens are released.
CGI-Quality said: You have come to this thread to derail it because you, yourself, have an obvious bias and couldn't handle that Uncharted 3 was receiving many of the votes.
So funny you're the one calling out for bias when you've made a graphics comparison topic, and "co-incidentally" the only screen without any actual graphics is a PS3 exclusive
CGI-Quality said: It's been explained already that the footage in Uncharted 3 is entirely running on the engine, and not prerendered on a PC, using CGI.
Stop misusing terms. CGI = Computer Generate Image(ry) CGI can apply to real-time graphics too. And yes, we know it uses pre-rendered videos, but you still haven't explained why we can't nominate other pre-rendered videos, at least, pre-rendered videos that aren't PS3 exclusive (although I can guess why)
CGI-Quality said: I don't see why you continue to visit a topic you had no plans on participating in correctly in the first place, and because of such, your true motives have been exposed.
I don't know why you'd make one if you had no intention of comparing actual graphics.
snfr said: LoL, you didn't get my point as it seems. I didn't say there isn't any difference, I said you don't see it, and you don't see it because you will never see Drake's face so close if it isn't a cutscene.
Uh, I can move the camera anywhere I want, you've made a fatal flaw though, you're assuming everyone can't tell a difference between a video and something generated at real time. I can and it is as easy to spot as 30fps vs 60fps. I guess you're one of those people who doesn't.
snfr said: You probably won't do the same type of comparison for a 360 or multiplatform game
Why wouldn't I? Do tell. In fact I heartilly would welcome the challange. Post any (unaltered) pic of you like from any console game with a pre-rendered "in engine" shot and another shot of the same engine in real-time and I will be able to tell you exactly which is which.
snfr said: I still don't get what you're trying to desperately prove here. Not that you only complain about CGI's choice of pics and derailed the thread, you also try to bad-mouth Uncharted 2's graphics.
I don't see how agreeing with the developer that the PS3 cannot do U's cutscenes in real-time is bad mouthing it. It's a simple fact, although according to some people here, not a very well known or understood one.
snfr said: Buy a PS3, put down your bias, play Uncharted 2, then come back and discuss properly. (Just for you to know: I have all three consoles, I like them all, and I don't bad-mouth games that I don't like or didn't play, so...)
I have played the game to completion from the heist to shambala, there's a significant difference in the real-time graphics and the pre-rendered ones. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean its not there.
snfr said: Btw, I still think it's funny that you claimed that the ME3 trailer is in-engine...
And as you can see, I already acknowledged it was pre-rendered (same as Uncharted 3) to begin with in the original topic as the TC didn't seem to have a problem with it with PS3 exclusives. Of course at that point he started making up "mah roolz".
LOL this thread did get out of hand after all.....
