Elder Scrolls : Oblivion Was one of my most played and loved games of this generation. Coming onto this site and seeing that they had announced Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim for 11/11/11 made me happier then a kid in a candy store. I jumped off the couch, did a celebration dance and continued to strut around the living room. My girlfriend gave me the, you are a nerd look and continued watching TV.

So how happy are you about this bomb shell of a announcement?

Now to make it through the next 11 months. I will pre-order as soon as I can.

I'm hoping it's nothing like Oblivion, but I think the chances of that are slim.

Hmmm, there's been 4 Elder Scrolls games already, but no game for what, 3 years? Chances of a 5th game coming in 2011 were pretty high.

Personally Oblivion wasn't worth buying, I had high hopes for it but it let me down big time. So Skyrim either need to be totally different in design or it's not getting any interest from me. In particular it needs to drastically improve the third person gameplay. I hate playing in first person and third person was rubbish.

Oblivion was meant to be played in first person. Just like Fallout 3/New Vegas. I am on the opposite end...I personally loved Oblivion and have played over 150 hours of the game. I hope it plays like Oblivion but uses a new game engine or an enhanced engine at least.

Well I bought both Morrowind and Oblivion, and both had me playing for a decent amount of time and getting nowhere in them whatsoever.  Maybe the game is a little too much for my obsessiveness to complete everything, but they both ended up in me either getting bored or feeling stressed.  But they are my kind of game, but I think they are something I would have to work into most definitely.  As for the new one, I'm really intrigued but can't say excited yet.  We'll see maybe after I beat Oblivion.

im happy as hell. i hope for a good story the one of oblibion was bad, i didnt even finish it. and i want again amazing side missions!

Oblivion is right up there in my disappointment of the generation list. I hope Betheasda learns from the mistakes and gives us a great Elder Scrolls game like Morrowind.

I nearly cried when I saw the trailer. I've never been more excited about an upcoming game.
