Well to be fair, ps3 users also buying games.
Just some facts:

By the end of november there were about:
Total: 11,8 mln. - 100%
9,1 mln. x360. - 77%.
2,7 mln. ps3. - 23%.

Now CoD4 sales:
Total: 2,014 mln.- 100%
Call of Duty 4 (Xbox 360) -- 1,570,000 - 78%.
Call of Duty 4 (PlayStation 3) -- 444,000 - 22%.

Bow AC sales:
Total: 1,357 mln. - 100%
Assassin's Creed (Xbox 360) -- 980,000 - 72%.
Assassin's Creed (PlayStation 3) -- 377,000 - 28%.

So.. You are WRONG, if you think, that ps3 owners don`t buy games.

It would be around:
117k*3 = 350k.
66k*3 = 200k.
IF there would be 9 mln. ps3 sold in usa.
Mass effect just did 470k. Only 120k more, then Uncharted could theoretically. Practically with 9 mln. Uncharted good sell even more.

I don't know where you pulled that complete load of bollocks from. The system that dominates in the first year always goes on to win. The PS1 was the same (unfortunately, not all PS era data is available in handy graph form)

The PS2 never looked like losing. 

As number of consoles goes up, attach rate goes down. If more people own a console, then there are more casual gamers in that population. Hardcore gamers are the ones that buy lots of games, they are also the only ones that are willing to spend $400-$500 dollars on a console. So the PS3 should have a much higher attach rate.

Maybe people don't buy as many games for PS3 because they are broke after purchasing their console, so they rent.

It looks like, even shipments will be lower.
And that means X360 DEFINETELY WON`T WIN.

damn CrazzyMan im so sick of reading that in every thread. Its not even proven, its just your opinion or analysis, its not like theres a benchmark for failure or success. ZOMG no motion controlled systems ever won so the Wii wont win. ZOMG no console that debuted at $600 ever sold 10 million units so the PS3 wont. I mean thats cool if its your theory but to counter points with it is sort of silly at this junction of the game.
