Once again the show is overhyped.  MS was smart to back away.  Ugh ...

Not according to the $500 million ad campaign for Kinect.  ;)

Can this statement be bannable, its boring. And not proven that it was just for Kinect nor that it was just for the christmas holidays.

Pardon me, sir, but could you please spare me a few minutes of your time?  Thank you...

Let me make a few points:

1) It is my personal assessment that Microsoft is funding their Kinect advertising campaign by $500 million according to several news articles.

2) Setting aside $500 million to advertise pretty much any console gaming add-on is quite ridiculous for ANY console provider in my personal opinion.

3) ANY reasonable gamer will tell you that paying a bunch of choreographed dancers to "strut their stuff" in New York's Times Square to advertise a gaming add-on will do NOTHING to enhance, let's say, Fable III's gaming experience.

4) Gears of War happens to be one of Microsoft's biggest (in case you haven't noticed) console franchises.

Given these points, it is my belief that the sentiment of Microsoft avoiding overhyping Gears of War as a "smart move" because of overhyping would seem counter given the franchise in question as well as their past and current advertising habits.

So what did I say that was so... bannable?  Just think about that for now while I play a little catch up with Dead Space.  Being a survival horror fan and if I like the game enough, I just might pick up the Dead Space 2 Collector's Edition WITH Dead Space Extraction on day one.  But I'll be back... soon enough.

dose everyone forgot TGS

Microsoft always tanks at TGS though. The only people who ever go crazy are westerners on the internet.

1) those several news articles seemed to not source MS only MS would know what they spent it on and as Squilliam has stated on many many times it is not unusual for a company to spend this amount.

2)An add on you say? This from MS point of view is much more of an add on. In Australia for example all the non-kinect bundles seem to have been discontinued. It is part of the new systems basically.

3) "Any reasonable gamer" Okay that is funny that is basically saying your thoughts are correct and if people dont agree then they are not reasonable... Would I be correct in questioning this? And the point... wtf does that have to do with anything. It is advertising the dance games not fables gaming experience... This whole point from you does not make a lot of sense. Dancing seems to be the new thing, see Glee for a massive example. Singing will be next as well as dancing moves.

4) Yes I know Gears of War is one of MS biggest franchises, but as people have stated people who care already know the game is coming out. Whatever they are about to announce will benefit the game one would think. Its not necessary to be out there before christmas, they prob would want to announce it in the new year to continue momentum.

I dont get the overhyping thing but if MS didnt want to announce something at VGA there would be a reason. They are a multi billion dollar company they know how to advertise much much more then people on a forum. On top of that you dont know what the announcement is, it could be anything. Comment whether it was a good or bad decision when you find out what it is. That is my opinion

I say bannable because it is not proven and people who talk about Kinects rather high sales seem to keep bringing that up. Its a boring defence? if that is what it is. The bigger question is why are people complaining about Kinects sales, It is a great chance for new games for more and more people to enjoy

Ummm...  Just for the sake of argument, saving bandwidth, and sparing a few minutes of my life that I will never get back from reading what you just posted, would it make you feel better if I were to have just said, "You right, I'm wrong, Me sorry?"
