Ps3 that has a dead blu ray drive? It is an 80 gb retro compatible model, and everything works fine, except the blu ray drive, that won't read  discs any longer. Im planning to sell it to a guy that repairs ps3's, who could take mine apart to have spare parts.

I don't know much about tech and prices, so I would like to hear your opinion on the matter.

Around the Network

It would benefit you more if you just bought the blu-ray drive a replaced it yourself, why do you want to get rid of it?

I was planning to do that, but my girlfriend bought a slim... so now im left with a semi dead ps3 lol

Well even then if you could you would probably get more for it selling it on Ebay or maybe even Craigslist if its available to you.  But I would check those websites and see what the going prices is for a console in your condition.  you should be able to find one on there.

And you could also hack it and use to play games from external HD. It's dead after all.
