Amusing comments in here.

1.) All hail Wii even though it came off a week where it sold 80K more than the previous year to only drop 335K  from the previous year.  That tells me BF week the Wii sold BF week because of the great deals.  2.) Wii beat the 360 for one reason and that is availability.  Once January hits Wii will really start dropping YoY.

People complaining about the death of HD gaming while COD:BO sells 8.4M in November. 3.) Only reason so many casual titles in the top 10 is because Nintendo gave away 1.2 million pieces of software this week.

I also wouldnt be surprised to see further adjustments for this week now that November NPDs have came out and the ratios will model that more.

1.) Oh please, spare us the Wii is doomed stuff please, I think people are really getting sick of it.. I know I am. I mean for crying out loud, what does the Wii have to sell in order to keep all the negative nancies at bay? 100 million? 200 million? Yes, Wii will be down YoY come January 2011, and so will the HD consoles. Also, nobdy here said or implied "all hail Wii!" God forbid someone should say something positive about Nintendo..

2.) Wii beat the 360 because it has more games on it that more people want to play..

3.) So you're saying Kinect Adventures was in the top ten because Nintendo gave away 1.2 million pieces of software? :P

They're pretty close, if it hadn't been for the bundles this year Wii really wouldn't be ahead in Americas. Nintendo had to add value to the Wii to make it sell, it's not the games keeping it in number 1.

Good post, Wii lost marketshare in Americas and WW this week, so not sure why people are saying HD is the one that is doomed! Wii is literally losing 0.1 marketshare weekly now ...

Oh noes! Not the dreaded 0.1 marketshare weekly! NOOOOOO say it aint so!!!!

Just goes to show how quality blind we American's are.  The rest of the world realises how amazing the PS3 is but Americans typically cant get past the word Halo in the dictionary, and when we do we generally get stuck at the phrase "PEW PEW PEW" which instinctivly makes us backstep back to the H's and begin talking wth Z's instead of S's on forums.

Oh America, how silly!

Implying people are dumb because they don't have the same tastes as you is rather silly, don't you think?

OT: Kinect over 3 million now. Look for it to keep on trucking and have a massive December.

Actually, I think I know where he's coming from.  In general it seems American as a culture are more prone to falling into hype while more than other cultures having a desire to satisfy instant gratification.  I'm not saying all American's are like this.  I'm just saying the American culture is sadly being push more and more towards this trend.

American's are all about hype. And that's why PS3 was a runaway success from the moment it launched. And why the Wii failed miserably, under a mountain of ridicule.

Or wait, did Americans try things at their friend's houses and then decide to buy based on what they like? I think we all know where he's coming from. The land of fanboys, and it's why he's banned.

Yeah, and if it weren't for Kinect and a console redesign, 360 probably wouldn't be so close.

I mean what are you trying to tell me, that the GAMES aren't what is making a GAMES console sell?? Lol no, that would make too much sense. Get freaking real... I'm done.

1. Its not doom its down.

2. Keep telling yourself that.

3. You had to pay extra to get Kinect Adventures, but my comment was really about the people complaining about the death of gaming.  Really the bundled titles need to be stripped out of top 10 to see what people are actually purchasing.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Didn't notice that dude got banned, and I don't want to be defending any ill intentions so no harm coming from here.  And I'm sure some people go to a friend's house to try something and like it.  Sometimes the experience can be thorough and sincere, but sometimes that's part of the hype as well.  Just saying.  But I don't recall the PS3 being a runaway success when first launch.  In fact, there were the intial stortage.  But shortly afterwards, they were easy to find because to the incredible steep price.

The PS3 wasn't a runaway success, infact it was very nearly a disaster, despite being the most hyped of the 3 consoles. That's the point.

It's worth looking into whether or not the PS2 was up or down YoY in it's 5th holiday before deciding to point out the Wii's decline IMO.

I mean, it's sold a million units two weeks running, so it can't be doing that bad, given that the 360 has never had a million selling week despite posting it's best numbers, and the PS3 has had just the one...
