Hmm, I could have sworn that Wii was going to be in trouble this holiday unless Nintendo cut the price, at least that's what some people here tried to argue. So much for that ;)

Love to see the resurgence of Wii60 domination in America (minus the Kinect stuff). Also great to see DKC sticking around high on the top 10 after its second week. Shall be interesting to see if it hangs around there for awhile like NSMB or ends up more like a Wii Party that hangs near the bottom of the top 50 after awhile. I think it should be somewhere in between, performing at about half the strength of NSMB. Respectable sales for Epic Mickey. I think it should sell at least a couple million worldwide which should please Warren Spector and Disney. Now that NSMB Wii is bundled, I am convinced it will NEVER leave the top 10 as long as Wii is still alive, or at least the top 15.

personally i dont think hd is dying I just think a lot of parents... um santa ;) are getting the games/consoles for their kids. Would parents want their kids playing COD or New Super Mario Brothers.

That and unlike Hardcore games, party/casual games seem to change everynow and then. Mostly if you have played one shooter you have played em all. Mostly this is.

ou know what really grinds my gears? It's when people see wii numbers and instead of heaping praise saying "Fuck me look how well the wii sold" they instead go straight for the negativity and say "oooh massive decline on last year"

Yes, it has declined, but the fact remains, it is still the best selling home console worldwide by far this year, even with a strong decline on mega sales last year. So until the Wii is the lowest selling console worldwide week on week for months on end, how about we stop the depressing attitude and just be nice eh =]

Actually, I think I know where he's coming from.  In general it seems American as a culture are more prone to falling into hype while more than other cultures having a desire to satisfy instant gratification.  I'm not saying all American's are like this.  I'm just saying the American culture is sadly being push more and more towards this trend.

Yea we have more MONEY.  LOL  Or maybe the hype for ps3 in EMEAA is higher.

Kinect is a great add on to a already stunning AAA games lIbrary. So you can run your mouth about americans all you want, we are used to it. I for one am proud to be a part of the toughest country in the world.  What this is really about is that kinect is not a failure like you wanted it to be.

get over it, kinect works and people like it.

No, he's given up on "predicting" the industry and pretending to know everything and focuses on boring e-mails about games he can bitch about or praise and posts old videogame music. His blue ocean rants and anti-HD propaganda has gone up in smoke as things have turned away from his preferences. Good riddance, the guy is a complete tool and extremely full of himself, thinking he's smarter than all analysts, developers and the entire industry because he read a business book. His rants are still long but have even less substance and he still refuses anyone to comment on his articles, probably better to have only e-mail responses so he can handpick the less eloquent and classy critics and appear superior.

Edit; he has one cheap shot at Kinect, the Gel Ride video followed by "I love Kinect, its just so bad." The man is actually personally offended by the sales and existence of an electronic gadget. He's worse than Bruceongames...

haha, love the Malstrom hate. Just means he is hitting some hardcore gamers' nerves, and hitting a little too close to home so to speak. This guy is a breath of fresh air in a sea of stupidity and ignorance among gaming "journalists," who all say 99% the same things.

If these mainstream journalists actually had some intelligent things to say and didn't shut out and ailenate a large portion of the gaming (and non gaming) audience, Malstrom would never have gained the massive following he currently has, so maybe you should hate on the rest of the gaming media instead of him.

It's funny the hate that this guy generates considering he just minds his own business on his own personal blog, doesn't even make money off of it, and never posts on gaming message boards.
