Well if they want it to be known as sarcasm then they need to point it out.  Sarcasm is something that is expressed through an overexaggeration of words and facial/body expressions.  And if you don't do the first then the rest have to take it seriously.

It's still over 200,000 below the Wii ...

The Wii is in a different market and shouldn't be compared to the PS3 and 360. Just like the DS and PSP shouldn't be compared, they are in a different market too.

Exactly, because the PSP is in the same market like the Wii! oh wait, that doesn't end well for Sony either...

3k difference is well within the margin of error. It's a statistical dead heat.

This week is Wii > PS3 = X360.

Sony's problem right now is producing some feature/exclusive that the PS3 can use to really sell en masse. It needs to outsell the X360 in order to catch up to its userbase.

Edit: Minor typo, added last sentence.

I think the problem is that they are tied now, and next year is the second full year of the PS3 and all the big releases are coming just as 2007 saw the xbox 360 powder ignited (halo, Bioshock, ME...)

I seriously wonder if so much hate against Sony came from the inner knowledge that the Xbox never took enough difference to seriously discard a competitively priced PS3.

Another interesting point that tends to be disregarded is price. In Spain you can get a new 360 premium+Gears of War for 300 EUR, whereas the PS3 with a game is around 430 EUR.

Still, as some here take as proof of our lack of knowledge in VG, PS3 sells much better. At the end of this generation we will see which countries are not getting it yet.

MS hasn't officially lowered its machine much, but in fact it is quite undercut from the 400/no game combo I got at launch day. It's about the same price of a Wii+game.

Yeah, very interesting. Looks like the Playstation Brand still has some life left in it after all!

*munches on some crow*

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.

It's a RolStoppable post. If it doesn't support Nintendo, it's sarcasm.

Still, too bad about the PS3 software ratio, it's really getting a stomping in that area. I mean over a million less software titles sold compared to the xbox360 plus the Wii outselling it 2:1 in that segment, kinda sad really.

Well, the PS2 is selling just about as many units in both hardware and software as the PS3 and combined, basically the same as the Wii in software.  Give Sony another 6 months before writing the PS3 off as the combo of Home, increased popularity of the BD, movie downloads from the PSN and the upcoming Tivo-like service should have quite an impact on the PS3 brand.

Thanks to kenobi after I got him to ban my old account (dallas) after someone hacked into it and being ok with me coming back under a slightly different username.  I appreciate our communication in the PMs.  Also I want to give a big thank you to vgchartz for being one of the cooler websites around.

Oh, and I'm still the next Michael Pachter

But I don't want to use emoticons every time.

But emoticons are fun when used at the right time.
