Noooooo. I played the game with the orange box on my cousin's PS3, I didn't get very far. To me, there was no sense of orientation. I got stuck in the dumbest of places only to go, "Well, fuck there's the way out" after bout 20 minutes later. Maybe it's just me but I did not enjoy this game at all. For me, best shooters  Uncharted 2 (which i think counts as a shooter) and Resistance 2.

It's a good shooter, maybe even a great shooter, but the best? Nah.

Half Life 2 is extremely boring. The gameplay is bland, the guns are terrible, it's extremely linear for a game that wants to be more open, the AI was stupid and I just kept scratching my head wondering why the hell anyone would think Half Life 2 is the greatest game ever made. I played it years after it's release, so maybe it's because I didn't fall for the the huge amount of hype that it had at it's release. The only things that I actually liked about it was probably the presentation, a couple of the characters and the soundtrack. I usually have very low standards when it comes to shooters, but Half Life 2 has been given so much praise, that I felt that I had to raise my standards specifically for that game and they weren't met. I also didn't finish the game because it started to feel tedious.

Basically I disagree with the dev. 

Agreed best shooter ever. Still mad HL2 ep3 isn't released yet (come on Valve at least release some info).

For me it's System Shock 2 > Half-Life 2 > Deus Ex for the top 3 spots.

granted, two of them are hybrids.

Yeah I am a console gamer, so what? Just because PC FPS games came first doesn't make them better.

Never played HL2. My favorite is Bioshock 1
