So confirmed that the UK was the biggest selling region for GT5 in EMEAA then?

It has by far biggest installbase so it's quite natural. Going by attach rates France was biggest selling (although we don't have numbers from Germany yet).

Yeah but when working out the volume of sales attach rates don't mean much. If a country has sold 10 consoles and 10 GT5s that is an attach rate of 100%. But if a country has 30 consoles and 15 GT5s that is an attach rate of 50%, but it still sold more copies then the country with the 100% attach ratio. If that makes any sense.

While it is nice to see how many of the install base bought something it doesn't necessary mean something with a high attach ratio will have high sales. Or something with a low attach ratio will have poor sales. The UK had probably the lowest attach ratio of thouse countries but still sold more then them. The sales are what count :)

I think VGC has tracked just the first two days

So France UK Spain almost 600k in first week ?

Did we have first week numbers for any other country in region ?

UK: 265-275k
France: 235k
Italy: over 100k
Spain: 92k
Finland: over 20k (day one)
India: over 20k

India is a bit of a moot point. I really only mentioned it last week because I think it's the biggest opening for a game in India. We basically have almost no SW tracking in Asia. I would assume sales there will get added whenever Polyphony updates their shipment page.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

either way I think these numbers are looking higher then what we originally have here.

Summary...

  • Week between 22 and 28 (November)

The street date was broken on the 19th nationwide. Are those early sales included in this? If not, this is even more impressive than it seems.

I agree. And this is the reason why your original statement doesn't make sense. Of course it sold most in UK because in Europe PS3 still has biggest installbase in UK. Why you questioned this the first place? Even though UK is not maybe as much into racing games as other big countries in Europe it still has so much bigger gaming market that especially regarding first week sales almost all high profile games sell most there. Those attach rates just show that GT sells very well in other countries too. It's not like Halo that gathers half of its Europe sales from UK.

No, Germany could be the biggest one.
