Sony refuses to give numbers for the PSP. Make an educated guess why.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
|
Console | Yearly (change) | Total | |
|---|---|---|---|
| DS | 6,771,792 | (-44%) | 50,608,419 |
| Wii | 5,731,307 | (-47%) | 36,508,716 |
| X360 | 5,426,236 | (-2%) | 26,737,502 |
| PS3 | 3,966,203 | (-20%) | 16,603,611 |
| PSP | 1,272,934 | (-55%) | 20,280,201 |
| PS2 | 801,815 | (-60%) | 52,528,571 |
| Total | 23,970,287 | (-37%) |
what does "Americas" include here?
America reads here essentially all of America. That just refers to U.S.A.
Tease.

except that this is NPD?
If I understand it correctly... those are for the end of October.... so to compare to VGC you need to take the last 5 weeks of sales away (and then of course the usual USA vs Americas comparison)

(I meant 4 weeks in my last post, not 5)
Here is the comparison table anyway.
| Console | VGC (Americas) | NPD (U.S.A.) | Difference |
| DS | 5,124,967 | 4,557,500 | 12.5% |
| Wii | 4,483,738 | 3,389,900 | 32.3% |
| X360 | 4,327,716 | 3,534,089 | 22.5% |
| PS3 | 3,204,208 | 2,593,500 | 23.5% |
| PSP | 1,087,889 | --- | --- |
hard to tell what would be a normal difference between the USA and Americas, but I would guess 15-20% depending on the console would be normal, so maybe DS is a little low and Wii a little high.

Actually the calculation used to be USA = ~87%, or in reverse Non-USA = ~15% of USA. But I think recent data has shown Latin America has been growing noticeably recently. Plus it would seem Canada's been picking up in sales as well. Sony says they hope to sell 1.5 million PS3 up there in the next 16 months.
