Remember once upon a time where the ps3 at its terrible starting point was outsold by the gameboy advance sp, even by a little, so yeah.

My take is ds would sell more than some consoles, maybe all, excluding the 3ds for obvious reasons, due to the predictable massive drop price and being a behemoth in the gaming library, and its soon to outsell the ps2 as well.

I could see that. I mean other consoles have lived on when new gen's start. didnt the PS2 out sale ever console from this Gen in the begining? Its not farfectched at all. You will have people picking one up who could not afford before or atleast at the time and you will have people buying one last one because they have a lot invested in it and dont want to be SOL on thier games if thier current one brakes down. I myself have a unopened PS2, SNES still. I dont have a PS1 because well PS2 can play them soo.  Same with GameCube my Wii can play them. Ill probably pick up another Wii to hold back at some point.

Lol, I seriously doubt the 3DS will sell by the bucketloads when it is just launched. The price point may be the problem. It will still sell, but definitely now as fast as DS. It will, however, sell faster than PSP. 

Are you suggesting that ds would sell better than the 3ds and everything else? If so, props to you, you just won the Internet.

I also never suggested the 3ds to sell bucket loads either, its more likely to have a slow start due to its price and launch games.

In Japan, I'm sure. I remember when the DSi launched the older models were selling well. I'm not as sure here with the increases going up by alot this year compared to last year.

Most likely. All consoles will be rolling downhill in 2011. The DS's extremely shattered momentum will still be better than what the home consoles will be doing next year, with or without price cuts. 2011 will be so terrible for current generation consoles that it'll be scary.

Obviously not, :P. But considering the expectations people have.. "2011 to be 360's peak year!", "PS3 will peak in 2012!" ...in a way, it's gonna be much worse. Besides, in the GC/Xbox days, PS2 was always pulling up the average. In 2011, Wii won't have a fancy new redesign to skyrocket its sales either.

I can foresee this, the DS is a sales beast
