Forums - Gaming - PS3 games "infinitely more fun" than Wii

Ah dang. If only the Wii didn't sell twice the SOFTWARE during november, maybe PS3 would be halfway-to-breaking-even. LOL.

Oh, twice the software on twice the consoles. Thats inconceivable! Lets not forget a substantial part of that was Wii sports. Sure, PS3 has bundles too, but not to the same level.

SPIN TO WIN!

The question is is the wheel the Big Wheel from The Price Is Right or the wheel from Wheel of Fortune?

And if so, did Stringer just spin a 5 or did he Lose A Turn?

Come on down and tell him what he's won Pat!

I forget what game show it was, but Stringers been ZONKED!

BAM! There it is!

It is actually quite an odd statement when you actually think about it ...

Golf, Baseball, and Tennis in Wii Sports could easily be translated into one-button games but would face the exact same problem that all one-button games have; they would simply be no fun. There is something about actually swinging your racket/golf-club/baseball bat which is far more enjoyable and satisfying than pressing a button.

No matter how many polygons they add, or how "uber-realistic" PS3 games get, they will never be able to capture the simple enjoyment of acting out your actions.

That is very very subjective just like his statement.

Especially since the SixAxis DOES have motion support.

It's just a PR statement guys...not such a big deal.

It's a big deal if you like Sony and want their PR to not hurt the company image.  So yeah, to me it's no big deal, but if I was a Sony fan I'd be pissed.  They've had enough trouble in the public eye.  They don't need this guy to continue making asanine comments.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said but I don't think you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Honestly Stringer doesn't deserve the animosity. While most of the Sony executives in their gaming division do deserve ridicule. Stringer on the other hand has been rather open, and fair minded. Anyone on these forums should be well acquainted with his past statements in regard to formats, pricing, and finance. He has made it pretty clear in the past he was not happy with the plans for the PS3.

Have we chosen to forget about his comments about the format war. He said in interviews had he been involved at the time he would have sought a compromise. Rather then have a war in the first place. He made numerous statements about the consoles initial price being far too high. His thoughts on finance are apparent in that Sony hired him for that reason above all others. They hired him to slash costs, and from all accounts he seems to be doing a fantastic job. Selling off divisions, and abandoning less lucrative markets.

His statements are hardly a shock he is excited about their next years lineup in comparison to the lineup offered on the Wii. Historically speaking his statements make a great deal of sense. Not only are their games for next year traditional winners, but the machine might actually show some graphical glory, or start to make serious use of its features. He is betting on the core gaming market, and the hardcore market to develop a significant interest in their console. He might be right, and he might be wrong. His opinion however is not ludicrous by any stretch.

i agree, thats why i bought a PS3. He doesnt say anythign about overtaking the Wii in sales. If the man didnt believe in the product hes seling he should be selling it. I agree thus own a PS3. Im sure folks who dont agree, own a wii. the world turns. I think we are stretching now when a CEO is torn up for a statement that he THINKS his system is more fun.

What do you want him to say "personally id rather buy a Wii than our PS3 since its so much fun"?

And "happy about running short on hardware" is a true statement. Hes saying he knows the wii would sell EVEN MORE if they had more available......not sure how that got twisted into PR BS, thats a very humble statement, imo.

what is fun is relative to that person's tastes.

Also, if the wii is selling out; then parents have to get their kids another game console for Christmas.
Very true. I played Wii sports and didn't have any fun whatsoever. I just didn't get what the buzz was all about.

Try Galaxy...Metroid,Excite truck,zelda,mohh2 online...and may be you gonna understand what's the buzz is about.

On another side...i can understand you...i played LAIR and Motorstorm on the Ps3 and understood why the Ps3 was a lot behind.

thas just like saying Cruisin for wii makes ps3 fans think its strange the wii is in front because ps3 has uncharted

I was gonna reply with something along those lines but you beat me to it.

It's not my fault my friend only has Wii sports, what do you want me to do? Buy the games for him?

BTW Motorstorm >>>>>>>>>> Any racing game out on the Wii right now, you should've said Nascar 08 instead since that game does suck.

Meanwhile, Stringer is bullish in the face of Nintendo's wider appeal, stressing that "PlayStation 3 will come into its own because its [high-end games] are infinitely more fun, demanding and exciting" in comparison to Wii's offerings.

i mean if you want to you could see how that would be a very humble and modest statement...so yeah
