Pachter pisses people off again, does this piss you off?

Yes, we already pay enough 71 81.61%

No, we should pay more to play online 16 18.39%

Total:87

Today GameTrailers released their episode which asks three panalists what is their biggest dissapointment of 2010. Pachter was one of those panalists and he seemed to know he's gonna take alot of heat for his comments.

His biggest dissapointment was the fall of the industry sales due to the recession. But he didn't stop at that he said one of his biggest dissapointments was that Activision isn't charging a subscription fee for CoD:Black ops. He says that subscription fees are long over due as we get way to much free content. He goes on to talk about how Activision should be charging a subscription fee and in the future will do so.

So I know alot of hate has gone Activisions way for suggesting subscription based online, now that Pachter endorses it what do you think?

In my opinion I pay every year a Live subscription fee, if I have to pay per game on top of that I will just stop playing online period. What do you think, would you be willing to pay another 50+ dollars a year to play online per game? Do you agree with Pachter in the sense that companies need to charge more because they aren't making enough profit?

What are your thoughts?

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

You have to remember he's a very money minded person, being in the profession he's in (always looking at how companys are evolving and coping in the recession)

And no, nothing he says pisses me off anymore.

I rarely if ever play my games online, so no I wouldnt pay for it.  It will probably happen one day though. I mean it already does with Xbox and PS3 now dont it?

Pachter has been pushing for this for a while now, actually. Almost as long as he has been banging on about Wii HD.

And in both cases he is correct.  N should have released a Wi HD and COD should be subscription based given it's popularity and longevity.

Releaseing a WiiHD when Patcher first started saying would have ruined their userbase and to a extent thier fans. Plus the Wii is saleing like crazy still. All in all from a buisness stand point that would have been about as dumb as they could be.  Remember what happened to SEGA

I agree. The Wii is getting murdered this holiday. Nintendo really screwed the pooch there.

Subscriptions would kill COD dead. Even Activision must realize this, which is why they swore off ever charging for online right after Microsoft started giving them a cut of Live Gold memberships.

I lol'd Patcher.

This can't piss me, 'cause anything he says without any sense never happen.
