Didn't seem so from the 360 footage... besides, imports have gotten so expensive lately... it's the only reason I don't have TOV PS3 yet.

Region locking of BluRay is up to the publisher. As others have mentioned, the PS3 is region locked, however unlike DVDs, a lot of BR films are region-free, so they play on any BR player.

According to http://regionfreemovies.com/, the one you ordered is region-free, so you ought to be fine. Just check before you buy something, but in my observations a lot more US releases are region-free than the EU ones for some reason.

Blu-ray movies are locked by 3 regions (A, B or C) but some are region free.
