Top 20 PS3 games

FPs isn't the dominant.....it shows a nice variety of games.

your right in saying the FPS genre is very strong, but PS3 isnt becoming the shooter box as games continue to sell well even from other genre's as we can see in this top 20, several games are from 2010.

I guess we are ignoring that 5 games on that list are FPS and about 6 others have guns involved in a big way.

In time more FPS and shooters games will make it on that list.

Hence, the PS3 is very much a shooter box like the 360. The 360 just happens to sell more.


It's not that shooters are very dominant. It's just that Call of Duty became big and there were a lot COD games released. FPS isn't some genre that just sells big. That's just an illusion due to COD releasing so much and selling so much.

I guess you are also ignoring the fact that 4 of these games are CoDs and the other one is a launch title in a big way.

Killzone is the biggest FPS exclusive on PS3 and its not even on the list, CoD games are on that list because of the same reason why an overpriced demo like GT5P is there, they're huge franchises and will always sell big, and there are some pretty major differences between a FPS and a random game involves guns, would you say Uncharted will be the same game if its a FPS?

Hence, the PS3 is hardly a shooter box, it has more variety than either 360 or Wii.

Without bothering to add up all the sales, offhand I'd say that currently FPS games sell more than any other genre.

Interesting thing about the PS3 top 20 is that with the exception of Resistance Fall of Man, all FPS games on the list are from the CoD franchise.

I don't understand what you're trying to say. Are you saying that there were more FPS game sold than other genre or are you saying that on average, a FPS will outsell a game of another genre.
