Well, we won't know if it's a major blow or not for sometime. Sure, some of the reviews are disappointing (the reviews, I can't speak for the game yet), but if gamers like it and it pushes PS3 units by the truckload, it will hardly be as big of a blunder as one would think.

I'm inclined to believe that GT lovers will eat it up and it will push systems. I just hope Yamauchi takes some of the criticisms as a valuable lesson, and Sony re-thinks some of their business decisions.

Or instead of doing that he could keep everything the same and not listen to anyone =P

I wouldnt know what you consider a REAL review(I would say real reviews have been coming all day),  I dont know if ps3community is a very reliable source unlike (edjuegos is though)

Don't take it too seriously.

And CheatCC, Vandal and 3DJuegos are in Metacritic list... just the PS3Community is unknown.

People shouldn't be complaining about the scores. IF the game isn't as good as SONY wanted it to be, STOP BETTING ON THE NAME OF THE GAME and make the GAME BETTER than the previous entries. I don't know how the game is yet but when I try it... I'll maybe post my impressions.

im sure the game isnt perfect, but its really weird when sites like ign say that its the best sim racer on consoles by a margin and it gets an 8.5. also game reactor mentioning the games development cost 1 billion dollars.

from where are they getting reviewers?

Seems like GT5 did deliver in sense of being the best racing sim. It was kinda expected that all the hype and expectations wouldn't be met in a 9-10/10 sense, atleast to me.

 

PD REALLY got lucky, the reviews could have been FAR worse. Talking mid 70s in meta. It should end at low-middle 80s unless the reviews that are to come are drastically better than the current ones, which I for some reason doubt.

Hopefully PD will get their act together and pull out a GT6 WITHOUT ANY DAMN STANDARD CARS. I mean for instance, GameReactor gave GT5 a 7/10 and in graphics department.. 7 TOO! It was a 7 on all points, gameplay, graphics, replay value, presentation. The standard cars set the presentation on a horrible point, the graphics on a horrible point. If GT5 would have had 300 premium cars and NO standard cars, released in 2008 or 2009, I can honestly think this game would have gotten shitloads of 9s and 10s.

The game looks really fun and good. Cant wait to get the collectors edition with the GT offical logitech wheel today! I hope online will be fun aswell. I expect more from GT6 whenever it arrives.


Now Sony, go announce Uncharted 3 at VGA and give us Mr. G O T Y like the guy in this thread said lmao. This  years GOTY won't be a Sony exclusive. Next most likely will just alike 2008 and 2009.

But, GameReactor is one of just two sites to vote it like that. Had it been followed throughout, you'd have a point. But it's got more 8s and 9s than 7s.

I think you're dooming out of context. I agree that their business decisions were beyond poor, but to say "this year's GOTY won't be a Sony exclusive" says that you expected it, and if it doesn't happen, the world will end. A Sony exclusive can't win GOTY every year, and even if GT5 had been a game to get all 9s and 10s, it still wouldn't have won GOTY. Racing sims don't win full GOTY awards as is.

IF GT5 got a 10, I honestly believe it could have won. Always a first time for everything x].
I do believe GoW3 will snatch some to be honest (Might be one or two...) but ultimately it'll be a game thats multiplatform most likely. World won't end, just wish we sony fans could have gotten a 3 year streak -> UAV is online ROFL.

It's cool, we got next year for sure. I just loved the thought of GT5 "saving" us from not having an exclusive win the GOTY 2010. But like I said, we're not doomed lmao. If anything, Microsoft and its X360 needs a exclusive GOTY win :>. GL Halo Reach, you're gonna need it! (Hopefully Mass Effect 2 will win and since its coming to the PS3, FUCK YES!)

JUST GOT GT5! I went to buy my Logitech Driving Force GT with my father and he said, whoa wait, isnt this the bad one? I was like.. yeaah but its good nonetheless. He then said, wait the other is more realistic? I said it has clutches... he was like okay lets get that one instead XD. Its temporarly out of stock (GT5 has sold like hot cakes here in Sweden, its GONE!) so we orderd it and on our way home I was sad because I REALLY wanted the game. We found another place where I bought GT5 NEW FOR 37€! Thats CRAZY! AND we orderd the steering wheel seperate and it'll come on 1st December. Until then, I got an old wheel I used for GT5:P and I will be using it. But its been a hell of a day!

CANT WAIT TO PLAY THE BEST DRIVING SIMULATOR :]

Uncharted 2 was a game that exceeded expectations by the truck load

This game has too much hype.

I can't say I'm surprised, either. This is the danger of running the hype machine full force for so long- a game will be expected to do so much that if any one expected thing isn't there, it's a letdown. And I understand PD's desire to get a great game out, but frankly, taking as long as they did set it up for people to be disappointed. The best advice I can give them for GT6: don't announce it 4 (or more) years out.

Good to see the updates. However, the reviews don't compare to the gameplay videos - the latter ones are just too good looking... anyway, I ought to get the game soon and see the reason for the mixed reception myself...
