Forums - Nintendo - uDraw Wii SELLS OUT (so much for it being dead!!!!!)

Huh. Given how quietly released, that's surprising. The only time i ever heard of it was a single story on joystiq and *Sound of Rain*'s threads promoting it here

Most TRU stores got a UDraw display. It's just an information panel with a video attacked to an aisle along with a spot for games to be displayed, but it does wonders.

I've actually seen a handful of ads on TV for it ... Can't remember what I was watching though, so I can't say whether it was on an obscure channel at off peak hours or a more popular show on a bigger network.

i see tv ads for this a lot..i think this may have the potential to be a system seller..shame nintendo didnt show this off at their e3 press conference

Don't care, im not buying their stock.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I sort of suspected this would be a hit. It's different enough from everything else to stand out, plus it's set at a good price.

The least Nintendo could do is port over DS games. Brain Age, Art Academy, and Flipnote Studio would be a good start. Creating a new version of Mario Paint seems like a stretch for them, but would be nice.

Well, this is good to hear!

Wal-mart must have just gotten another shipment or something, cause they say they have them online.

Though, they are still sold out at Toys R Us.

Heh same here. If not for Sound of Rain, I never would have heard of the device, and I would consider myself a pretty avid Wii fan.. Wonder if this thing will get widely supported. I kinda doubt it will, as even the Nintendo supported balance board only has a handful of games that use it.

Well as I wrote elsewhere, given THQ's past connections to these games,  I totally expect a Drawn to Life game and a Scribblenauts game to come out for the Udraw.
