Oh you can also see pictures from the Konami release of Dance Evolution for Kinect, (Dance Masters) at the Konamistyle store in Tokyo. They are also selling Kinect sensors/Kinect 360 bundles. Naoki Maeda was also there.

Those japanese and their crazy dance games!  I said once before that Kinect should do better than expected in Japan just because it will have the best dance setup of any of the 3 consoles (IMHO).  So time will tell if it keeps up this good momentum or not.  I will guess and say it will keep up a small tick but nothing more.

And not only the Japanese, I suspect. After the initial hype is over, dance games and the fitness and sports ones that work better on it than on Balance Board, will be the strongest supports for Kinect's legs.

Yep, well at least until we get the second and 3rd gen of Kinect games.  We simply don't know everything that they can and will do with the system yet.  And I for one am very very excited to see what we get.

I suspect there will be a lot of games coming down the pipe that are mixed in with our regular controllers, and I feel this is where kinect will really shine.  Maybe we get our first truely awesome RTS game with regular controller and Kinect mixed in, could be very special for those of us who love RTS and have been dissapointed with most RTS on consoles.  Halo Wars is probably my favorite RTS on consoles, but its very simplistic (compared to computer based RTS) and I am looking forward to a more engrossing experience our next go round.

This COULD be significant, but there an article over at Kotaku paints a different picture:

Well, to be fair to the article, it isn't definitively saying Kinect didn't catch on, it's just pointing out some of the major obstacles experienced in trying to get Kinect in certain retailers in Japan.  I had believed that Kinect could serve as Xbox’s best chance to make a dent in the Japan market, and it will be interesting to see what the early returns say.  I think it would behoove M$ greatly, to ensure they save up some of that reported$500 million to launch sign Japan-centric ads for the launch of the multi-platform title, Children of Eden, as that game looks to be a promising title.
