Forums - Microsoft - Debut Project Draco screens! Panzer Dragoon lives on through Kinect!

It bugs me that they keep calling it Kinect's Panzer Dragoon.  Sure, that'll get more hits and interest than Project Draco, but it sets up unreasonable expectations.  This is NOT Panzer Dragoon.  It likely won't really play like that, as that gameplay is designed and optimized for a controller.

That being said, to say I'm excited about the potential of this game is like saying the sun is hot.

maybe but did you not see the trailer ?  These 3 names were there during the productions of the first 3 games on the sega saturn platform.. they disbanded after and maybe the odd one of these worked on panzer dragoon orta.  Yukio Futatsugi name was particularly interesting because in some ways Panzer dragoon was his baby and seeing him return for this game made a lot of panzer dragoon fans excited.

the original panzer dragoon games.. first 2 was on rails shooter and the final game was an turn based RPG.

Project Draco will have some dragon raising elements which remind me of the RPG where you can alter the DNA of your dragon to determine what kind of fight class you want..

This might control similar to that kinect adventures game were you ride a boat and you have to jump and gesticulate and stuff...

But now you have skies instead of a river, and a dragon instead of a boat.

Its the only control method I can see being utilized right now.

Appreciate the pitch, but its unnecessary for THIS PD borderline fanboy.  I've owned every single one (yes, I was one of the original 5000 that got PDS) and the series is truly gaming at its best.

But this is not PD.  It would be like calling Perfect Dark the new Goldeneye just because it was a FPS from the same developer.  Same with Bioshock and System Shock.  It may be a spiritual successor in a way, but its NOT PD.  The more we make that comparison, the more we're going to nitpick the things that are different and ultimately could dislike the game because of it.  Let this be its own (fictional) animal and follow the development closely and get excited about whatever eventuality it leads to.  Its good to have these Team Andromeda players back on the playing field again, particularly with new technology being the creative spark that brought them back in.

Youre not going to get any XBOX fans here, ioi TheSource hate HD games to begin with.

Whatever it is, those screens look good but given how much precision the series has always needed, i doubt this is going to work well.

Wow a game like this really makes me want a kinect, Panzer Dragoon was a classic and this should be AAA also!!!

I for one can not wait for more core kinect games. I'll have to keep up this as it gets closer to release

Looks good, wonder when they will launch more kinect games.

It looks more like it. If its good it might get me to buy Kinect if only in part to experience this game.

Tease.

Add traditional controler support and I'm in

Controller support is not really needed. This is exactly the perfect type of game for Kinect. Kinect should provide a much mroe immersive experience for what they are aiming for than a regular controller would provide IMO. This is definitely one Kinect game to keep an eye on.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

I am soooo looking forward to the Japanese core Kinect titles.

Rise of the Nightmares is the game that really got me excited. Condemned with Kinect? YES PLEASE!

Project Draco looks like a nice game as well. I expect big delays though. They have to localize this in different languages and I think this might takt a while for German / English / Spanish / French / Dutch / Italian etc.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
