Forums - Microsoft - Debut Project Draco screens! Panzer Dragoon lives on through Kinect!

Your First (Brief) Look At Kinect's Panzer Dragoon

Project Draco is basically Panzer Dragoon for the Xbox 360's Kinect. It's even made by the same guy. First revealed at this year's Tokyo Game Show, though, it's only today we get our first proper look at the game.

These two screenshots, courtesy of Japanase game site Famitsu, show that, yeah. You ride dragons!

Project Draco is the creation of Yukio Futatsugi, the man who invented classic Sega on-rails shooter Panzer Dragoon. It's a very similar game for Kinect that, in addition to having you fight other dragons and guys mad enough to ride on dragons, also lets the player "nurture and learn to communicate" with your flying buddy.

To me this game is what makes me REALLY excited for what we will see in Kinects future.  Bring on more stuff like this and as long as it controls great it will be hard to resist for the Core gamers.

Is there no 360 fans left on this site?  I think these screens are pretty interesting for 360 gamers.

*adds jeuxvideo.com to list of bias and unreliable reviewers*

Them bastards. How dare they give their opinion on a game!

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

Sorry ben. But you aren't going to get any responses to a thread about a hardcore Kinect game.

Lol I guess your right.  Unfortunate as that is.

It's even more doomed to fail given that it's a positive one.

@OP: Looks neat. I want to see more but having enjoyed Panzer Dragoon Orta and seeing the type of experiences Kinect can provide, I think this will be the closest I ever get to my childhood dream of catching, taming and riding dragons.

*jealousy*

It bugs me that they keep calling it Kinect's Panzer Dragoon.  Sure, that'll get more hits and interest than Project Draco, but it sets up unreasonable expectations.  This is NOT Panzer Dragoon.  It likely won't really play like that, as that gameplay is designed and optimized for a controller.

That being said, to say I'm excited about the potential of this game is like saying the sun is hot.

that's cause everyone who's talking about this game are on the sega saturn forums getting excited about the return of the panzer dragoon games..

and yes I'm very excited about this ever since this was announced at the TGS 2010

Add traditional controler support and I'm in

Can't wait for this game!  However I think those screens are from the same trailer that was shown at the Tokyo Game Show aren't they?

When he talks about learning to communicate and train your dragon I think about something like Kinectimals but for adults.  Kinectimals is actually a pretty sophisticated game even though it's geared towards kids.  The game mechanics work really well.
