Suggestions for a 360 owner. Its sad that no one has kept it on-topic for 360 games :-

1. Culdcept Saga. Its like Magic: The Gathering mixed with Monopoly. Unlike the XBLA game, you can build your deck. Its a wicked, but difficult and rewarding game. You take turns with your opponents rolling dice, and placing your cards to claim land. You build them up like monopoly, but if an opponent lands on your square, your cards battle it out. If they lose, their card dies, and they are taxed ala monopoly. Great game.

Blah, could be a fun game except the AI cheats worse than Puzzle Quest.

My original suggestions, Agricola, could be played whether you have a 360 or not.

Pfft, the AI doesn't cheat in Puzzle Quest. It just hits a chain and the next row happens to hit another chain, hitting two more chains, eventually hitting 4 skulls, docking you 10 or so HP.

Sorry but to say you only want these on your console is just heresy. This genre is by far a billion times better served on a PC.

Additionally, above all Civilization series is the best you can get and the console's "Revolution" was really crappy compared to the PC versions.

You should start with Heroes of Might & Magic III (which is the best turn-based strategy ever and it will run on any PC nowadays) and don't bother with IV/V

Master of orion 2. You need to play that game. Honestly. :D

I never could get into MOO2. Most of all because of the known tech tree. No sense of surprise, no chance involved, no make due with what we have (that is get the tech that I want from someone else if neede). Also, I waited many years to meet a guy who would beat MOO on impossible with 5 oponenets in a huge galaxy ( I still haven't done it yet, maybe I just suck), while MOO2 was beatable on the hardest equivalent.

So for me MOO >>>> MOO2. I still play it today, after 15 years.

I would included any laptop should be able to run M&M 3 as well.  I also like M&M 2 as well.

I know you said you don't game on PC, but I recommend to at least check this site, where you can find some of the PC games recommended in this thread: http://www.gog.com/en/catalogue#strategy/ (the list includes TBS, RTS and bulding/economic sims like The Settlers, Patrician or Port Royale - as for some reason most websites these days file all building/economic sims except SimCity under strategy games).

Most of these games will run on any modern PC. Heroes of Might & Magic III, Age of Wonders games, Disciples 2 are some of my favourites from this list which still look good today imo, but I liked  Master of Magic, Master of Orion and Jagged Alliance even more.

The list is missing the imo best TBS series (and one of the best gaming franchises) ever created:
Civilization. You already played the very good, streamlined console/handheld port CivRev, but nothing comes close to the original series (my fav will always be Civ 1, but objectively Civ 2 and 4 are the best).

I've never played a game from the popular Worms franchise (TBS subgenre artillery games), but this might also be something for you and a Worms game is available on every system, i.e. also on XBL.

On handheld/console I'd generally recommend SRPGs instead:
Fire Emblem (DS), Final Fantasy Tactics (DS, PSP), Valkyria Chronicles (PS3, PSP), Jeanne D'Arc (PSP), Disgaea (DS/PSP/PS3), Luminous Arc (DS),...

Fact: The best TBS franchise not on PC is Advance Wars (DS).

And here's a special tip as you liked CivRev:
I'm not sure if you have a DS, but Age of Empires - the most famous PC RTS franchise - is surprisingly a TBS franchise on DS. Both AoE games on DS (The Age of Kings, Mythologies) are great and should be very cheap today.
