You can't go around posting pictures and gifs of real life cars and try to pass it off as GT5! :O

Anyway I think he's trying to say bland in the sense that Forza and GT go for looking like real life, real life is normal and that is the definition of bland, so maybe he's trying to say he wants more style and to go beyond normal.  But even if he is meaning that its a poor choice of words, though I don't think they have to do much to look better than Forza since the original Shift looks better than Forza 3 did.

Thanks for that, I needed a good laugh tonight.

Glad you got a chuckle, shame I enjoy blur effects to give a sense of speed, depth of field, crash effect that give you a good sense of being in a crash, and finally actually having people and things around the track so isn't boring to look at.

Believe me it took me a while to find that Forza video to give it a fair shake lol

Either way I'm not getting into this further than that, Shift isn't trying to simulate real life, and I find real life boring, so of course I'd find something that is trying to be a game rather than real life would be entertaining to look at.

They can put all those effects on screen in NFS, but the cars don't cast shadows?

That just completely destroys the games graphics for me.

The Graphics sure look incedible for GT5 but I just find the gameply boring and repetitive

I prefer the gameplay of Midnight Club, Need for Speed and Burnout >>> GT5 & FORZA

... comments like thse make me lose hope in humanity.

Sorry but GT is not the end all be all. I'm glad you and many others think it is but I don't find driving around in a PT Cruiser for 4 hours trying to earn enough money to buy a Mustang, rinse and repeat for weeks till I can afford a fun car to drive an enjoyable experience. Thats not even mentioning wasting time earning licenses. I can say the same for Forza except minus the license part. Need for Speed and others like it are just a more gripping action experience. Unless someone is obsessed with cars then GT5 and Forza 3 just don't appeal as much.

LOL, you don't have to grind for weeks to get a fun car in GT. Just go to the used dealer and buy an old Integra or MX-5 with the money you start out with!

But yeah, if you're so unknowledgeable about cars that you'd buy a PT Cruiser and save up for a Mustang instead of something useful then it clearly isn't the game for you.

Yes because an integra or MX-5 are fast. I'm unknowledgeable about cars? A mustang would rape an integra or MX-5 anyday. 15 second 1/4 miles are not impressive. I'm talking stock vs stock. Mod vs mod stang would still win.

I suggest Reading Comprehension 101. Never said those cars were particularly fast. Just making a point that you can be driving a fun car in GT right off the bat instead of spending "4 hours in a PT Cruiser". Mustangs might be nice in NFS but this is a sim racer and you need to be able to turn corners :D

I don't find driving an integra or mx-5 fun. You may however but I prefer to drive cars that I will never experience in my lifetime.

Well, then there is something wrong with you. Watch Top Gear or read any motoring magazine. They've driven the fastest, most expensive cars in the world and any of those guys will tell you them cars are fun to drive.

And last night I took a fully tuned Mustang (630 bhp) and a fully tuned Integra (470 bhp) round Paris in GT4 and my best laps were...

Mustang: 1.34.450

Integra: 1.31.480

So there you go :)

There is a MAJOR difference between real life and a video game. An integra and MX-5 are not fun to drive in a game. They are slow and its almost impossible to get a good sense of speed and excitement unless you tune the hell out of it. In real life yes those cars can be fun because you are actually experiencing it. I'm talking about a game where driving fast exotic cars is what its all about.

Any car can be fun in real life. All you have to do is drive like an idiot and drive reckless :)

So people actually can tell the difference between 30FPS and 60FPS? You people must have super powers.

Or not.

Yeah, human eye stops noticing shit like frames per second once it goes over 24FPS.

I must have super powers then
