Forums - Sales - Guys our kinect sales are probably not far off!

Don't worry Brett I got cho' back. Our site says that Kinect sold 1.3 million in 10 days of sale in America and 4 Days in EMEAA.

According to Aaron Greenberg, Kinect has sold "Over a million to customers". Which could very well mean 1.3 million.

He isn't going to say "Over 1.3 million sold to costumers" that would song wrong. Yes I know vgchartz can be up to 10% off, I do think we have overtracked it slightly, but mabye 100k-150k. Not like how you guys are saying vgchartz is 600k off. That's just talking out of your ass IMO.

My personal opinion, I think Kinect solde 1.15 million rather than 1.3 million, otherwise Greenberg wouldn't have made his immature comments. But I made this thread to inform and educate all you people saying that Vgchartz is "Unreliable" and "Kinext is overtracked by 600k move outsold it by a lot" etc...

I have been posting on this site since it started, and this is (just about) the only time I can think of where a manufacturer has announced numbers that were significantly below what has been reported by this site. Being that we always respond to manufacturer numbers that are above these estimates with the claim that "Manufacturers report shipped sales, not the number of units sold to customers" I think it is foolish to claim in this one instance that the manufacturer is reporting sold to customers and has underestimated by a wide margin.

I don't understand some works in english... but sold-thru = shipped???

Edit - My mistake... sold-thru = percentage of units shipped which are actually sold.

he says "Sold to customers" meaning sold to customers

The funny thing is, many swore Vgchartz was undetracking Kinect's numbers while questioning the numbers. Now, it seems vgchartz was a little bit overtracking it espacially if those are shipped copies.

Yeah. sold-thru = units shipped which are actually sold.

But Microsoft customers = retail and not final user.

Except, in the past when we have seen other companies use the term "Sold to Customers" we always took that to mean "Sold to the company's customers" which are retailers ...

IGN got clarification that the sales MS referred to were sold through. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/113/1134363p1.html

Now they didnt clarify if sales were WW or just NA.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

First line: "Microsoft has sold over 1 million Kinect units worldwide..."

Yep, time for some people to grovel about how faithless they've been towards VGC's credibility. Swallowing Greenberg's line as if his credibility is leagues ahead of VGC's.

Onya lads.
