Forums - PC Discussion - Can I run the Orange Box

I can find the Vista requirements for the Orange Box (or any game) online. Maybe you guys can help me. Here is what I have.

  • 2 processors running - AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+
  • 2.31 GHz Performance Rated at 6.60 GHz
  • 893.9 MB Ram
  • NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 (GeForce 6150SE nForce 430) (graphics card)
  • 159.3 GB free disk space
  • Realtek High Definition Audio (sound card)

I think I at least meet the minimum requirements. Does anyone know what the specs are, or if I mee them

Thanks.

You're fine on everything except the graphics card. I think it will RUN, but you won't be pleased with the performance.

It should on low.. id say buy a cheap video card. lol

So is that two 446.95MB sticks run in a dual-channel configuration? Sweet.

Hates Nomura.

Yeah you're fine except the graphics card's pretty low.

You could get a good graphics card for under $100...heck, a $50-$75 graphics card could get the Orange Box games running on decent settings.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

The RAM is kinda low and so is the video card...

Top 3 favorite games: Super Mario Galaxy, The Sims 2 (PC), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Try this link:  Game-o-meter

Click "Start", run the test.  What does it tell you?

Thanks every. I might try the game first (since I can run it) and see if it's bad enough to where I should upgrade my system.

Its good but you should get a new video card, one that should be able to run it on high wouldn't be to expensive.

Now that you talk about PCs does anyone know if the 8800GTS 512Mb (the new one) is better than 8800GT? I'll be buying a gfx card tomorrow since i got my new PC but there was a shortage on gfx cards and i got an 8400 GS. Any help would be appreciated :P
