Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft - 1 Million Kinect Devices Sold so Far

im not flaming you, you are saying one thing even though all the facts point the other way.

All the facts we had up until a few minutes ago were 1m sold as reported by microsoft, and 1.3m sold as reported by VGC. Aswell as Greenbergs and MS statements that 1.3m were off. And those facts pointed in the same direction i was, since 9/10 the term "sold" when used by the big three, is sold to retail. Not sold to consumers.Which is where i made my point, 1m shipped cant get you 1.3m sold. That is all. No capital letters, no swear words or random outbursts of rage.

no you made up the facts that it was sold to retail. The original shipped would have been close to 1 mill worldwide. Not now. And since VG chartz had the number at 1.3 million how would the facts be pointing to the number being less then 1 million sold? This is where I dont get your logic.

The only reason I see you using 1 million shipped is because you seem to want it that way. All your positive posts even before Kinect was released you said it was going to fail. You dont like Kinect we get it. But until you get the facts, which I knew because on twitter Aaron Greenburg tweeted about 5 minutes after it was MSFTnews was tweeted.

If you don't have twitter fair enough but a lot of people already stated it and you chose to ignore them. Hence you are trolling. Your repetition was annoying me not the fact that you said it but the fact that you kept repeating a made up point.

Sold through retail is different to sold to retail. Notice the key word, through.

Imagine your ignorance is a brick wall. Also imagine the twitter from Greenburg is shaped like a phallus. Now imagine that phallus penetrating through the brick wall of your ignorance and spraying enlightenment inside.

Tease.

Thanks for the link to that account Nsanity. Over 1 Million sold to consumers in 10 days, that definitely stacks well with VGC's reported numbers. I don't get why Greenberg made such a big deal about the VGC numbers then, I guess he just wanted Microsoft to be the first to make the announcement?

I dont see it to be a problem. Another unit is selling well and for 2 people to have a good experience you have to pay about the same. Kinect will sell and what people are currently showing the price isnt really an issue.

In Australia for example we used to have games starting at 109, they are now around 89 for brand new BUT this was about 6 months ago. 99 for some new games even still. 177 dollars (at some stores) will be that much of a stretch down here.

Microsoft said on Monday it has sold more than 1 million of its new hands-free Kinect gaming systems in the first 10 days since launch, putting it on track to beat its target of 5 million sales by the end of the year.

(Msnbc.com is a joint venture of Microsoft and NBC Universal.)

The world's largest software company is hoping the Kinect will help revitalize sales of its Xbox game console this holiday shopping season and counter competing motion-based gaming systems from Nintendo, which makes the Wii, and Sony, which introduced its Move product two months ago.

"It's a strong start," said Don Mattrick, head of Microsoft's game unit, in a telephone interview on Monday. "Consumers are loving it."

The Kinect — a sensing device you plug into the Xbox which allows you to play games just by moving your body and speaking commands — is priced at $150 for a standalone unit and $300 bundled with a 4-gigabyte Xbox console.

It went on sale in U.S. stores Nov. 4, although many customers had pre-ordered units, likely causing a spike in early sales.

More than 30,000 U.S. stores are selling Kinect in the United States, including branches of Wal-Mart, Target, GameStop and online at Amazon.com. It went on sale on Nov. 10 in Europe and is due to go on sale in Asia on Nov. 18.
