outlawauron- I love the attempt at fixing it but Wii is just as big in Japan as everywhere else. YOu don't always need beastly sales all the time, to be "beasting" it out. Wii has a dominant brandname share in Japan, that so far neither PS3 or 360 has even begun to tear away at.
The more Wii systems on the market, the more people will be exposed to the Wii, and the more people who will look into buying a Wii for themselves ...
Realistically, Nintendo has a very serious supply problem ... 1.8 Million Wii systems per month works out to being (roughly) 450,000 systems to sell on a weekly basis; even with some stockpiled systems it is unlikely that Nintendo can supply (much) more than 600,000 systems per week ...
The short supply is helping the Wii sell better. Its a hot, impossible item to find. If you are really concerned about the Wii selling well, I dont think you want Nintendo to fill that demand.
People always want what they cant have more. Most people probably don't even care about the games so much.
Wii breaks 16 mil, PS3 breaks 7 mil

3 more weeks to count. Remember this tally only takes care of the 1st full week of December. 
It wasn't very long ago (within a week & a half) that Wii was in the 14 million range.
