Forums - Gaming - What are your favorite type of games? What are you most hyped for?

I like games that have an adventure qualities and action in them. I also like the ability to find hidden items. I like games with good voice acting. My favorite series are the  Gears of War series, Uncharted series, and Fable Series.

Of course there are other games I like such as Little Big Planet, Call of Duty 2 (360), Devil May Cry etc. but I could survive without them. This thread is about the games that you think would define a system.

The game I'm most hyped up for is Gears of War 3 (Self explanitory, it looks amazing).  Even though Fable 3 just came out, I can't wait for future DLC and a sequal in a few years. I will also be very pleased if Uncharted 3 comes next year.

What's your favorite type of games and what are you hyped up for?

Call of Duty. And only Call of Duty.

Warhawk...if they ever make another one.

Deus Ex 3 because it's Deus Ex... it's my favorite type of game. Though not my favorite game. If that makes sense.

Other than that Genre does not matter. Interesting does.

Games made by Square Enix (Made by... not published, Eidos counts as well though as I loved them before they merged with SE, despite their disasters their games always intrigued me) or Bioware(Except now... it's going to have to be only from certain bioware studios likely... IE not bioware mythic.)

I love J-RPGs and Platformers.

As a result, I am looking forward to DKCR, The Last Story, Xenoblade, FF VS XIII and Golden Sun DD

Anything with SCE stamped on the cover i am hyped for

GT5, KZ3, LBP2, S4, Twisted metal, SOTC etc etc

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Around the Network

My main favourite types of games are Action/Adventure, Shooter, RPG and Platformer.

Currently I'm most hyped for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Gran Turismo 5 for 2010 and for 2011 I have MANY MANY Games I'm hyped for but if I had to pick one I would definitely pick Dragon Age II.

My favorite games are generally J-RPGs, However I'm really not that hyped for anything at this point, it's a dying genre.

JRPGs

i'm hyped the most for White Knight Chronicles 2, FF Versus XIII, The Last story, and Valkyria Chronicles 3 (loved the jap demo)

want and miss the suikoden and wild arms series.

Currently I'm only really into titles that are SP or coop, engaging, narrative driven or creative driven.  At the moment there are only two games I'm really looking forward to in a big way:

  • LittleBigPlanet 2 - for me LBP is the best game/concept this generation so far, and looking at how far they've pushed coop/creation in LBP2 I'm itching to get the damn thing and start building stuff
  • The Last Guardian - for me ICO/SOTC are two of the best SP titles ever, and I'm expecting great things of The Last Guardian - particularly depth benneath a simple narrative (which ICO, etc. excelled at) combined with the best creation of an interactive experience with an AI character

I also love hybrid titles like Deus Ex and System shock that combine the immersion of FPS view with RPG elements so I'm cautionsly optimistic for Deux Ex 3.

I also really like a good, cinematic TPS like Uncharted so more of those would be nice.  Gears 3 looks promising although I have to admit I went of the whole space marine jarhead thing around Gears 2 so I'm not sure the actual characters/setting interest me much anymore but we'll see.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Favorite is easily 2DPlatformers follwed by 3Dplatformers. If they where not there I would be playing alot less. I have enjoyed many different ones such as Mario, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Sly Cooper, Starfy, Aero the Acrobat, Mega Man, Sonic, Kid Icarus, some of the Disney games, Wario, Vietful Joe, etc. This list could go on for along time =)

I am currently most looking forward to Donkey Kong Country Returns and Sonic Colors

I should add the only ones I have never liked are WRPGS and Strategy
