Tales of Symphonia: The only serious contender to challange FF6 for the crown of RPG king.

ToS has too many flaws to challenge FF6 IMO.  It was still good though.

Kingdom Hearts was probably a bit overrated.  The biggest problems with that game were that it was far far too easy and once you unlocked Sephiroth you basically were only an hour or two away from maxing your level.

I'm looking forward to Tales of Symphonia 2 : Knights of Ratatoskr next year, and I'm looking forward to getting Tales of the Abyss this xmas (confirmed). :)

Tales of Destiny was my first tales game, and I loved it. (I was a fool and traded in that, and many other gems, like Breath Of Fire 3 and Omega Boost, BIG mistake on my part).

This is where I earn more Soriku death threats by saying by saying that I own ToS, and I think it's a 7.5.

Tales is underrated, but Symphonia is overrated. The other games are better.

There are too many titles in the series and their quality is inconsistent. One or two great games out of such a large number does not make a series great.

Crappy ports notwithstanding, I think the Grandia series is more deserving of recognition. The battle system is far superior to that in the Tales series. I didn't get around to Grandia III however, and it appears to have been slightly less well-regarded than the first two. I'd still like to play it, though.
