I'll be convinced when a cheap glassless free TV comes out and I need a new TV. 3D is neat but not essential.

In racing sims the side monitors adds to your peripheral vision and gives you a lot better sense of speed as objects flying pass the corners of your eyes. I would seriously recommend you never try it unless you got the money. Once you try it it's hard to go back to single screen. Even a 50" screen at 3 feet away doesn't give you the same sense of speed as triple monitors does.
A more affordable price would convince me ...

If you have a pair of colored 3d glasses around..Here's a clip in 3d, but this site can't handle 3d. So, doubleclick on youtube (or go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yak82qz_Q7U )and watch at youtube, then select the proper color for your glasses.

I have a 46" TV and sit about a foot away (I also use it as my PC monitor) :P
