Well the PS3 is a Japanese console which likely has plenty of Japan-only titles. GT5:P, Final Fantasy XIII and soon to be the likes of GT5 and The Last Guardian are also titles that are worth mentioning, especially considering titles like GT5 and FFXIII will push more units and consoles than anything the 360 has offered thus far in Japan. |
Reread the bolded. It has a lot of games they like to play, certainly not FAR less than the PS3.
Are you saying those 3 games you mentioned are the sole reason PS3 is outselling the Xbox 10:1 in Japan?
Come on. What he said really makes no sense. The differences in software between the PS3 and 360 are not very big, even in Japan.
I never knew about the console wars till this gen. Used to just be happy with my PS1 and eventually PS2 but now I'm not happy unless my console is raping the other consoles.

The last two generations, it didn't seem as bad. I had a GC and no one gave me flack about it. This generation, having a PS3 seemed to have offended a few people.
For all that are saying that Japan is xenophobic or racist, let's put it in a different perspective. I'll say what I said in another thread. Imagine if a Japanese company like Toshiba or NEC released a game console in the US and their entire game lineup consisted of games like Rorona Atelier, Tales, Anime slice of life games, etc. They were all anime styled games where male protagonists looked like girls (thinking of what ticks off western gamers the most). How would US gamers react to that? They would probably avoid it for the most part (albeit, I would love it personally but I'm in a 5% minority).
Then, the next generation, the said company decides to throw in a few shooters to cater to the American audience. What would happen? Well, sales would increase a bit, but the previous generation where the said company completely disregarded gamer's taste in the US would leave a bad taste in their mouth. After a few months of trying, the company gives up and doesn't release anymore shooters. Most of the American audience would be glad they held out and didn't buy into the company's product. This is the scenario in Japan with the Xbox.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Now you have companies buying timed exclusive dlc, excessive bindling, the race for motion tech, racism (People who wont buy 360 because it's built american), blue ray, and the race for net flix, dis shits crazzzy! Let's all take a moment to ease the console wars by saying something nice about the console you think should be below your favorite console. I think the size and reliability of the wii is nice....now it's your turn! |
Americans are not a race so it is not racism.

Brilliant post. Actually the best one I've seen in the past few weeks.

Lots of great Japanese games didn't sell well, I guess the westerns are racist too.

I think in Japan, the 360 is also generally percieved as a lower grade console in comparasion to the PS3. but its not just that theres probabily loads of games that dont get released here that are PS3 exclusive in Japan, that pretty much makes it very difficult for the 360 games to sell.
but we can se in the US a similar scenerio is playing out because the 360 has sold 10mil more units than the PS3. so it could be that Americans equally dont want to support a foreign product, they would rather support the 360. (although i have no idea about the last comment, just a theory i have).
Racism is a strong word, the thread should get locked.
