here in australia most people still play their ps2's.

My skool im in a rich skool so everyone has everything really the only things i see all the time is the DS and the PSP more DSes we arnt afraid to show them off and who ever has a phat is koolest it is werid. But everyone that has a 360 is interested in the Wii many people want a Wii many have 360 and only the ones willing to admit they have a PS3 admit it. I dont have that many consoles bc im poor but w/e

My school:

Wii

Not very popular. Only old nintendo fans have one and all they have is Zelda. Tagged as a kid system.

360

Insanely popular! 50% of the school has one. Halo, Mass Effect, Call of Duty 4, The Orange Box, PGR4, etc. is what most talk about.

PS3

Unpopular. Many misconceptions. Some still think it's $600. Only around 5 people have one, but they are all hardcore gamers (having 10+ games). Also, there are a few planning on getting one for GT5 and MGS4.

PSP

Picked on in every possible way. They have no idea of the games the PSP has. Im the only defender of it.

DS

Wildly popular. DS rocks, PSP sucks. That kinda thing. Phoenix Wright and MArio games are the only ones that are popular.

however, from my old uni friends there were:

4 DS lites
1 PSP
1 Xbox360 (owned by the brother of one of them)
3 Wiis
0 PS3s

this is in Australia

everyone had a PS2, almost no one actually played it, most people actually spent more time playing NES and SNES games they bought from funco land. A few tecno nerds had Xbox's they modded to play movies and pirated games... mostly movies.

Of course, that was a long time ago back when i was in highschool. In college i kept to myself mostly, some people had 360's.

Wii:
Not that popular, I only know one person that owns one.

Xbox 360:
Popular 360 rules, PS3 sucks

PS3:
Not popular enough although it seems more popular that the Wii

PSP:
It rules "Why the heck would you buy a DS if you can buy a PSP instead?"

Many people I know own them

DS:
Not very popular seen as a handheld for wimps, I only know one person who owns one and he would rather have a PSP.

Though most of my friends don't own video game consoles older then a PS2, heck a lot of them are still happy with their N64/SNES's.

Most of my friends really arn't into Video games that much.

I don't know many people at my collage but from what I here and see the 360 is most peoples console of choice, I saw a wii once and have never heard or seen any PS3s.

And among my friends, (who go to different schools) they love the wii and to a severely lesser degree the 360.

Among everyone (Including me), it plays outs like so...

Wii: 6

PS3: 1

Oh and interestingly, my friend who has the PS3. His roommate traded in his 360 for a PS3 40 gig. Despite my friend already having the 60 gig.
