I would never consider ANY racing game in the "best graphics" category, simply because they are so EASY to do on a console/game. It certainly seems to have the "best graphics for a racing game" though.

Give me organic modeling, faces, natural terrain with deformation, fluid dynamics (etc) any day.

...

For the record, I own both GT3 & GT4 (although I neither play racers, nor am a "car nut" - although some of my friends are!).

If I end up with a PS3 down the track (i.e. in 2-3 years time), I'll definitely consider buying GT5. It does look awesome, and very realistic.

Did you even play FM2 my friend? GT3 was a disaster, i didn't even bother to play 4. Did you play GT5?? Looks great but best looking game???? for a racing game??? God, people, you are desperate. What if gameplay sucks??? what then?? (ok, looks more than great, but killzone 2 looks too, they fixed the goddamn fotos!!!)

 Never played forza 2 but if it is anything like that POS forza then GT3 and 4 blow it out of the water.  Oh i have damage on my car whoop dee do.  It sucked really bad and forza 2 probably did more of the same and sucked as well but i can'y be 100% sure.

I would be willing to bet that most people would not agree with you, GT3 was a very good game although IMO the 4th one wasn't as good.

It has been done for over a decade ...

A company releases screenshots from replay mode and every idiot in the world exclaims "The game is photo-realistic" and "Best graphics ever!" Gran Turismo 5 looks very nice, and may be the best looking racing game to-date but racing games still have a very long way to go before they live up to the hype.
