Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 360: No longer a gaming console

After reading this I kinda get MS's overall direction with Kinect...

Then what the hell was that thing I was playing Enslaved on?? :O

I also love that the first line of the article is "Microsoft's Xbox 360 is very clearly a gaming device" lol

I would call the x-box 360 more of a multi-media center, Netflicks, Last Fm, Facebook, Zune and so forth. I believe Microsoft wants it to be more then just a gaming system and the proof is in the pudding.....

Same is true of Sony with their "It Only Does Everything" PS3 campaign.   They both want to sell these products to as many people as possible and that means showing that it's more than just a gaming console.

360 only does everything

I like how they suggest they can use the kinect sensor as a way to identify who is playing/in front of the machine... Beware, big brother is watching you...

But we must first concentrate ourselves on the way to entertain people, for video games to live. Else, it's a world where sales representative will win, which has as effect to kill creativity. I want to say to the creators all around the world:"Courage, Dare!". Shigeru Miyamoto.

It's the overall direction with the Xbox360 in general...and from the beginning. And now let us all guess what Sony's direction with PS3 is. ;)
