ok guys, i need some help

a few years ago i think it was at Sony's E3 (but it might have not been) a game. it was basically Grand Theft Auto BUT it was all online? and there was alot of you playing in it. maybe even 2 rival gangs or something? There was even a trailer.

this is all i can really remember... it might of been Microsofts actually? i dont know

Does anyone remember this game? What was its name if so?
