9 mins into the game and Rondo has already 8 assists...man, we're really another team with him in the field, wonder how much get

Think he could pass Stockton's record?

I don't think anyone will break Stockton's record for average assists in a season and a big no to anyone getting close to the all-time assists.

So ESPN has an entire section devoted to all things Miami Heat called "The Heat Index".  If the Heat continue to struggle, how long before they stop dedicating front page space EVERY GAME to do this "Heat Index"?

I guess as long as they get clicks, and I'm sure they get clicks, they'll probably continue to cover the 7th or 8th best team in the league.

Man, I hope the players only meeting for the Heat will sort some things out.

it's always the Lakers home court.

I went to both of their games at the Staple center couple of year ago.  I can say that girls are much hotter for lakers games!

But how do you make money off a team that keeps on being the laughing stock of the NBA for years, specially considering that in the same city you have a team that not only is increidibly succesful but it's also by far the most popular team in the NBA (at least internationally, Lakers and Kobe are by far the most recognized outside the US)? Considering how more successful teams lose money, I simply can't see how the Clippers would gain something by sucking constantly when you add the factor that it's not like you're forcing the city to rally behind you because "it's the only team we have and we gotta support it"

Clippers still get paid for T.V. and other incentives, but their payroll is very very low.

Did you see Lebron bumping the coach?  Was that an intentional bump?

they had players only meeting after the game - who called that?  Who is in charge over there in Miami?

Yeah i saw that too, i think he did that intentionally just because they lost. What a baby =P

See: Mets, Jets, Nets.

Some peopel are born to like the crappier undredog team if you live in a city.

You'll notice the vast majority of New Yorkers either like the Yankees, Giants and Knicks, or the Jets, Mets and Nets.  Rarely do they mix.

Sterling cuts EVERYTHING he can to make a profit.

I don't know who the Mets or the Jets are -_-

I guess that in the end if he manages to make a profit of a team that's always been horrible, it's something to commend, considering that a lot of teams lose money.

Still, it's always puzzling, I mean, in pretty much every league in the world, there's a relegation system that punishes the bad teams, in the NBA they "reward" them by giving them high draft picks, and even then they haven't been able to be good save for one or two seasons.

The NBA actually has a fair system by using a draft lottery instead of flat out rankings like the NFL. A team like the Bulls, who weren't terrible, landed the 1st overall pick and managed to draft Derrick Rose who has become a true super star for them. Bad teams need high draft picks so they can change the team's losing culture and keep the league competitive. However drafting early these days also means they're locked into giving rookies large guaranteed contracts that could backfire on them. Look at Jamarcus Russell or Greg Oden as examples of 1st overall picks not even coming close to earning their salaries.
