I think they made a whole bunch of translation goof there and I wouldn't quite jump to conclusion yet. For example, they translated "Link Crossbow Training" as "Link Horrible Pun Training"... Funny though, very funny



I am a PC gamer, and also have a NDS now, but without access to a Nintendo Wii until End of 2007.

I looked around and it seems like this is being listed as clearly a rumor, I don't like that no one actually has the Famitsu pages to back up this kind of information. The information about the colored Wii's accompanying Brawl in Japan and coming with Two wiimotes + nunchucks seems to be under scrutiny too. All of this stuff seems to be falling too far under the realm of awesome, or in other words too good to be true. RPGfan seems to eb reporting it as fact though, even though everyone else is sticking to rumors:

The newest installment in tri-Ace's flagship Star Ocean series, Star Ocean 4, has been confirmed to be in development for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The newest addition to the critically acclaimed franchise is apparently too big for one game, so developer tri-Ace decided to split it up into the following three episodes: Star Ocean 4: First Departure, Star Ocean 4: Second Evolution and Star Ocean 4: Till the End of Time. Series fans should recognize the subtitles as being the same for the first three games of the series (the first and second subtitles being newly added for the PSP remakes).

Star Ocean 4: First Departure will be available in Japan sometime next year.

This is just way too confusing. Why would it be split into 3 games? Why would they be named the same as SO1-3?

On the other hand, this information is funny. It doesn't make sense. First, tri-Ace just did an interview with Famitsu and said that the game would be exclusive to one platform. Second, read the info:

* Logo, etc. shown.
* SF3-like release schedule; first volume in a set of 3
* 4 pages of logo and character illustrations.
* Volume 2 is "Second Evolution". Volume 3 is "'Til The End Of Time".
* More info first issue of 2008

First Departure is the PSP game, the remake of SO1. SO4 has no subtitle and no date. It's certainly not coming before 2009. They're also talking about logos, character illustrations and volumes...this sounds like the SO1 Eternal Materials book that was just announced, not a game.

None of this is making any sense.

 Maybe 4 is just remaking the first three games on the HD Consoles? I don't know. =/

I don't think non-PS3 exclusivity matters hugely, there is little competition between PS3 and 360 in Japan, the fact that it is not coming to the Wii is what matters

No one cares what it's on right now Munkeh.  We are trying to figure out what the hell it IS haha.

Edit: Besides, we already saw a screenshot and knew it was an HD console.

I dont really care. I just hope the EGM rumor about SE securing a premier IP exclusively onto the PS3 is true...

...cause I got a feeling its going to be Parasite Eve 3 which something I want to be seen more than anything. The PE series have been neglected for far too long.
