According to this week's Famitsu (The one that gave GT5:P a 39/40!) Star Ocean 4 has been confirmed as a multiplatform release for the Xbox360 and Playstation 3.

Dont know how to feel really, never been into the serie. If I remember right the rumours said PS3/360. Is the serie good?

The question now is when, we've still got another two years (probably if you're pessimistic) before FF XIII, I wish JRPG devs could stop announcing their games so early.

Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time for the PS2 was good and seeing that its being multiplatform release will really help Square Enix.

So if this is multiplatform then is it going to be using a 3rd party engine?

Never played any of them, but good to see japanese devs giving 360 something else than the cold hand it's so used to :)

On one hand, holy shit. SO4 was going to determine whetehr I got a 360 or PS3, now it's coming to both?

On the other hand, this information is funny. It doesn't make sense. First, tri-Ace just did an interview with Famitsu and said that the game would be exclusive to one platform. Second, read the info:

* SF3-like release schedule; first volume in a set of 3
* 4 pages of logo and character illustrations.
* Volume 2 is "Second Evolution". Volume 3 is "'Til The End Of Time".
* More info first issue of 2008

First Departure is the PSP game, the remake of SO1. SO4 has no subtitle and no date. It's certainly not coming before 2009. They're also talking about logos, character illustrations and volumes...this sounds like the SO1 Eternal Materials book that was just announced, not a game.

None of this is making any sense.

And Volume 3 has the subtitle from Star Ocean 3. I call some kind of mistranslation...
