Wii Sells Through More Than Two Million Units

Nintendo announces that Wii(TM) has sold through more than two million* units in Australia! This milestone was achieved in 47 months and establishes Wii as the fastest selling home console. Previously Nintendo DS® held this record, selling through two million units in 52 months.

Wii is an interactive video game system that lets anyone play, regardless of age, gender or gaming experience. Wii launched in December 2006 and ushered in a new era of video games. The built-in motion controls of the iconic Wii Remote(TM) controller attracted new players to the world of video games. Wii is now available with a new, improved remote, Wii Remote(TM) Plus. well PS2 sold about 2.5 million units in 10 years on the market (it is still on the shelves at some stores).

PS3 and 360 are close to the 1 million mark each.

Wow, thats quite low. I know that "All my friends had x console" is not an argument, but, most of the people I knew had a gamecube, which i also considered it odd. But, again that number seems way too low.

ahaha I know right? All the friends I had owned a gamecube. I was the only one who had multiple systems.

Maybe Nintendo Australia gave up counting considering how poorly managed they were in the past.
