I think they need to do more:

Call of Duty Kart racing

Call of Duty at Winter Olympics

Call of Duty party

Call of Duty RPG

and then they can also expand into collectible card games or something :D

Don't forget RTS.

Why would that be a bad thing? Think Company of Heroes, but just branded as a CoD game... If they got a good developer it would still be a good game!!!!!

I really don't see what the problem with lots of CoD games is. Just because they are called CoD, doesn't mean that they are the same game. Personally, I will happily play more than one shooter a year (well more like 5...), and why does it matter if they are all called CoD. They are going to be from different studios and so going to be a different take on the style

Or Call Of Duty: Petz

Call Of Duty 2K11 Sports Package

Call Of Duty: Tetris

Call Of Duty: Liberty City

You guys are idiots!!....for forgetting about Call of Duty: Summer Olympics! =P

I'm tired of hearing about "franchise fatigue".

If they keep putting out good games people will keep buying them.

I can't think of one franchise that dried up because they put out too many. It usually happens because the games suck.

One springs to mind immediately, Guitar Hero! How many releases did that get in 2009? And what are the main releases in the series selling now? Thats definitely a case of franchise fatigue.

And for people who are wishing for Call of Duty's demise, they have probably been given hope.

The thing about Guitar Hero. I don't think putting out a ton of games killed it. I think people just got tired of playing with those plastic guitars.

People aren't gonna get tired of FPS games.

I wasnt talking about the FPS genre in general, I meant Call of Duty. I cant see many people buying them all of them in a year.

I can't see them releasing that many in a single year.

Unless they have one major game and two generic games for machines not HD consoles.

people said the same thing about Platformers, JRPGs, Rhythm Games, Puzzlers , Indie Games, Sports Games and most recently Sandbox games, a couple of years back everything was sandbox, now everything doesn't want to be a sandbox.

sandbox games were everything a couple years back?...I must have missed it

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

When you sell dozens of millions of anything for $60 or more, it is very tempting to release more than one per year. The more the better for me, as long as the games are good - I never actually paid for them.

To be honest i think they will kill long term profits if they release 3 games in one year. Alot of my mates dont like it coming out yearly :/

Yeah i know my spelling sucks but im dysgraphic so live with it :3

GTA 3, San Andreas , Vice City and then came the other less popular Sandbox games , True Crime, Getaway, Saints Row, Spiderman.

some games also still have obvious inspiration from the sandbox genre from last gen , Infamous , Assassins Creed.

but now the sandbox games aren't as popular as they used to be, infact more developers are focusing on more linear level designs, and getting away from the "empty" fields of the sandbox games

This is Activision we are talking about. Maybe your right, but they would probably think one game made Infinity Ward and another by Sledgehammer would be different enough to release within the same calendar year.

I fail to see what's wrong with Activision.

Arguably one of the best 3rd party developers in my opinion. So they got a lot of shit games under their belt, so do most major developers.
