O_o man these claims are making me weary about getting Fable3 now

I know I shouldnt read into others reviews too much, but Im seriously gonna be dissapointed if instead of improving the series they took a step back, and if it turns out to be true...... I think I will be done with this series!!

Done with the series?

Go play Fable 2. I was let down by Fable 3, but Fable 2 ranks as one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I doubt I'll ever be  done with Fable as a series . . . but I will say rent Fable 3 first. Its definately a good game, but it misses "great" by many little things:

-Your character is bland and one-dimensional in her speech. This could be due to the fact that he/she probably says 25 lines through the whole game. Maybe not even that many.

-Cutscenes feel like they were rushed-- I'm going to attribute this more to then trying to reach the holiday launch window then lack of technical skill. Animation is good for whats in them, and so is dialogue, but they are seriously freakin short . . .

-The same fighting throughout the whole game. The only variation is in different spells. Well, visual variation anyway.

-The ending. Rushed-- it feels short and incomplete. The beginning. Seriously rushed-- very little buildup to what would be life-altering events for your character. Your dog? Really, really stupid.

I could rant on and on, but I won't. Despite this I had a lot of fun with the game; I just wish it felt more like Fable 2. Perhaps nostalgia is affecting me, but I doubt it-- I loved Fable 2's world. A comparison done by Gamespot showed me just how much bleaker Fables 3's rather colorful world is in comparison to Fable 2's fantastical one. Honestly that was probably my main reason for playing Fable 2 as long as I did, and while Fable 3 has a fairly colorful world, it's got nothing on Fable 2's Albion. So did I have as much fun as with Fable 2? Not even close. But it's still good.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

wow im gonna have to try this game out lol because i thought fable 2 had a lot of stupid mechanics. Like the way you would be in your house doing gestures at your wife and a random group of people would come in and clap. Or how your character looked pretty awful well mine did he looked like a pediphile. And it was so freaking easy. the story was alright also not that great to me but that tower portion where they cut your hair  was awesome and unexpected.

Hm, when I read this (and other people's and reviewers' opinions who didn't like III as much as II), I wonder why Naznatips gave it a score of 90 and Fable II a 85. He seems to be one of the few people who liked it more but even after reading his review I don't understand why.

You'd think they wouldnt repeat this same mistake again -_-

I think Im gonna wait to play this game ,

Because as it stands  I loved The first Fable, Liked Fable2 and most likely will tolerate Fable3

I personally think Fable 3 is more fun than Fable 2.  Its more streamlined and a very relaxing game to play (which is very good since I love relaxing fun games)

not completed number 3 yet but right now im of the opinion 1>3>2.   i woud say all are really great and all have their little detractors.

tbh, i think fable is over-rated. Just decent to me

Comparing his Fable II review to his Fable III review makes it fairly obvious imo. Albion is much bigger, combat is better, co-op is better. I still think Fable III stomps up and down on top of Fable II. Everybody focuses on what they don't like from Fable III, instead of the massive improvements it makes over Fable II.

Yo_john needs to get in this thread, because he thinks Fable III is better as well.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

I don't think the series is over rated.  I never played Fable 1 (so ashamed) but Fable 2 and 3 became nothing short of addictions to me.  The games really suck me in.  It's just that there are certain things I think F2 did better than F3.  I guess a good analogy would be comparing Street Fighter ll to Street Fighter lll.

Oh, and I wish both games would have included more diverse wildlife, enemies, and a few horses wandering around.  It would have helped create a more believeable world.
