So even if Apple doesn't buy Sony, if Apple doesn't buy EA. In order for Apple to enter the industry they need to aquire someone, they have no internal dev teams to make games. Apple is also the second largest company on earth and have alot of money to throw around, they could easily go on a shopping spree and aquire a large amount of developers to make up a new gaming branch of Apple.

I think a fourth competitor couldn't possibly be a good thing especially being the size of Apple. Four consoles have never existed side by side for more then a year or two. It would probubly mean the death of one of the big three. It would also mean other big publishers/developers would now be under Apple control rather then making games on all three platforms.

Imagine EA, UbiSoft , Activision or even Sega not making mutliplatform games anymore. Suddenly they are exclusive to Apple. It would be a huge upset to the whole industry and Apple financially would have a major advantage over Sony, MS or Nintendo.

Sony is a king when it comes to HW atleast when they are alone at it.

aand how would it not be a Head to head first as they are very much promoting social gaming atm and have that kind of similar crowd bases

Nah. Not only would they outsell all the competition three-fold, they'd do it with a $999 console that isn't any better then the cheaper alternative offerings. It wouldn't even need games.

If we want a system that's just as capable as everything else, but priced $1000 more, then yea, I'd like Apple in the gaming industry

Dude....every electronic is a "poor mans version of an Apple product".....because they charge ridiculous amounts of money for their average-slightly above average products. And no they don't "bring people what they want before they know they want it". They say "this is what you want" and yuppie ass people believe it. It's similar to a self fulfilling prophecy...except for business. I don't need a touch screen for everything. I'm just fine with buttons. But because Apple says so, many believe otherwise

Absolutely not.  So they could nickle and dime and over-price everything they sell?  I have enough problems with what the current console makers do.  Microsoft is the worst with this in my opinion.  Apple would put MS to shame IMO though.
