Forums - Gaming - FF13 360 JP Sales will decide FF13V multi-plat fate

So everybody is thinking FF13 VERSUS is going multiplatform coming January and it will be announced at the FF13 press conference being held by Square Enix.

When FF13 Japan release was confirmed, people though  now FF13V is definitely going multi-plat

Well,I think different

I say FF13 Versus's multiplatform fate depends upon how good FF13 360 version sells in Japan this coming December

I know its coming an year later and you would say its sales wouldn't matter as games that come an year later to another platform usually sell bad.But if FF13V is to come to 360 then FF13 sales would need to be good, even it is coming an year later.atleast alot better compared to other games that have come to another platform an year later

Thats why Square Enix setup the FF13 Fabula Nova Crystallis conference in January to make the announcement,if 360 version sells well then it will be announced at that event.if not then it stays exclusive and this time forever and Worldwide

Nah, i think that its already in the works. theres a small possibility it could remain exclusive, but given what we know now i dont think so.

besides the Japanese 360 version wont sell much, those people who bought 360s in japan dont care about FF or they wouldve bought a PS3.

but imo because of the things that have been said about the 360 affecting the quality of FF13, and the poor sales of games like Enslaved, Castlevania and Vanquish it wouldve been better for FF13v to remain exclusive imo. its going to have smaller sales than FF13, and had it of remained exclusive it wouldve retained a good degree of exposure, eg like Demon's Souls.

I would say near 1/5 of the total userbase.

that would be around 300k but i would set even a lower amount ,lets take 200k.tht would be the minimum

I am not saying it won't go multiplat, just that the sales of 360 version in Japan will be a deciding factor

we all know its not going to sell well, doesn't mean it completyely bombs and Square will still put it on 360.it will need to sell atleast a small good amount in Japan

and it doesn't mean that everybody who wanted FF13 went out and bought a PS3.it is the same thing when alot of games have come an year before to 360 in Japan and still sold better an year later on PS3.i am  comparing here just saying that sales would atleast need to be a substanial amount even with all the  things against FF13 selling good on 360

i don't think we sould compare to Fianl Fnatasy to reboots and new franchises as they are on different levels

but yeah exclsusivty can benefit the game

also i think FF13 VERSUS will outsell FF13 even if exclusive.i even think FF13 would have done better had it been exlcusive cause of the hype and added attention

it wil sell 50K in Japan at least...

what do we know?

it's not near as simple as you're trying to make it sound.
Vanquish is just fine how it is.
Could it have sold more? Maybe, is there any proof? No

ummm it's final fantasy, it already has way more exposure than demon soul's just because of the name. I mean Dirge of Cerberus has more exposure than demon soul's and it's a crappy game with a good story.

yes, but its not a main installment. a lot of people who play the games are just going to see it as a spin off, sequel etc. it may not have the same traction as an exclusive game, and may just fade into the night. i think so anyway, i dont think it will have the same attention as when it was exclusive.
