In topics like these whichever fans visits your post most is the way the vote talley will sway.. IE.. visited by mostly Wii fans.. Xbox 360.. or PS3 ..

What i find hilarious is Sony is voted best, yet if they are the best how come they are last place in game sales ?  their console has been nearly the same price as 360 for over a year and they even have a bluray player.. their games don't cost any significant amount more then 360's or Wii's do they ?  My objective question if Sony games are so good how come people arent flocking to buy them when price isnt a issue..  I think this just goes back to what I said above.. if you have a poll on welfare and more democrats visit you're poll you're gonna get a one sided story on welfare.. but the real story is where people put their wallets and cash.. and thats more true with the PS3 and Xb 360 because they sell many of the best selling multi-platform games..

I knew Wii was number 1 because they have so many consoles out there.. but out of sheer curiousity I went to the VGchartz software section.. and did the top 25 games sold on each console to see how many games were sold ( at the bottom are the totals of all games on the list - of whatever list you do ).. Wow! .. then I did the top 50 for each console.. then top 100 ...

Ok, again Wii is far ahead and frankly having twice as many consoles out there is a good enough reason !!  BUT...then the XB360 is only 4 million units ahead of the PS3 - so it should be close overall..  YET the Xbox 360's top selling games consistantly beat PS3's whether multiplatform best sellers or Exclusives they are always beating them  and making tons more cash on the 360.... nearly 1/3 of the best selling games in the top 50 list aren't Sony studios, or MS studios.. they are Multi-platform games - which means those should sell very closely but 360 sales consistantly edge out PS3 multiplatforms..... The #1 game on each console COD MW2 sold 11.7 million on 360.. and 8.7 mullion on PS3.. and only a few multiplatform games come close in sales, but almost always going to 360 in favor..

TOP 50 games sales for each console :  Xbox360 183 Million units sold, PS3 135 Million units sold .. Difference of 48 Million !

XB 360 Top 50 http://www.vgchartz.com/worldtotals.php?name=&publisher=&console=X360&genre=&minSales=0&results=50&sort=Total

PS3 Top 50 http://www.vgchartz.com/worldtotals.php?name=&publisher=&console=PS3&genre=&minSales=0&results=50&sort=Total

Top 100 games sales : XB 360 255 Milllion units sold, PS3 182 Million.. Difference of 73 Million !

XB 360 Top 100 http://www.vgchartz.com/worldtotals.php?name=&publisher=&console=X360&genre=&minSales=0&results=100&sort=Total

PS3 Top 100 http://www.vgchartz.com/worldtotals.php?name=&publisher=&console=PS3&genre=&minSales=0&results=100&sort=Total

Top 200 games sales: XB 360 328 Million, PS3 237 Million.. Difference 91 Million ..

Top 500 game sale : XB 360 404 Million, PS3 281 Million.. difference of 124 Million..

If you choose to list 1000 games on each console they will list them all since neither console has 1000 games..They list 673 individual games on 360 ..and 530 on the PS3, but around 100 of XB 360's 673 listed games are on Xbox Live arcade which i dont count... but if you do count those XB LIve games.. which most dont sell that well ( by 'well' ...im saying hitting anywhere near a million ) ... You're looking at : Xbox 360 total going to 411 Million games sold.. PS3 still at 281 million

Sony is best and Nintendo is a good second. That's about it.

Oh, and you forgot a bunch of 360 games there (Crackdown, Kameo, Perfect Dark, Viva Piñata, Banjo etc). Still, wouldn't make a difference (to me)...

SOE =/= SCEWWS.

I'd also take issue with taking out the 3DS remakes, as both are looking to be fairly substantial overhauls and filled with ground up new content.  I mean technically, Star Fox 64 itself was a remake too originally, but it added and changed so much from Star Fox it's generally considered an original game.  I tend to think SF3D will probably change up quite a bit itself... besides, if you wanted to add the PSP downconversion of Eyepet, I can't see much problem with the 3DSmakes.

It is actually,

SCEA is the parent division of SOE , and they're no longer independent.

"In April 2006, Sony Online Entertainment, Inc. became Sony Online Entertainment LLC, owned by Sony Pictures Digital and Sony Computer Entertainment America."

"On March 13, 2008, Sony Online Entertainment announced that Sony Computer Entertainment will have direct control over SOE."

also i mentioned Eyepet (PSP) because you mentioned Fable 3 (PC) , its the same game but released on different platform, also for clearance Playlogic WAS going to develop Eyepet until they went bankrupt , now its being developed by SCEE

Edit :Ninja'd!

"On March 13, 2008, Sony Online Entertainment announced that Sony Computer Entertainment will have direct control over SOE."

and if you think the 3DS remakes are pretty different then you might want to add Sly collection for example since that added Move enabled Mini games and 3D.

also i mentioned Eyepet (PSP) because you mentioned Fable 3 (PC) , its the same game but released on different platform, also for clearance Playlogic WAS going to develop Eyepet until they went bankrupt , now its being developed by SCEE

Did you read what I wrote?  SOE isn't part of SCEWWS, despite whatever divisional restructuring Sony Corp is doing.  They've kept their development studios separate, they're still self publishing PC side, they're still functionally a different division of Sony, even though they report to SCEA now.  Besides, most of SOE's games are likely vaporware. :P

I did add Sly Collection... where it belongs, in the 2nd/3rd party category. ;)

And Playlogic was still fulfilling all contracts afaik, meaning they'd still have been finishing EyePet PSP.  Hell, the game was likely near finished before they filed for bankruptcy 3 months back, I doubt SCEE "started over" in that little amount of time given the game releases next week.... do you have any source saying otherwise?

for me it would have to be sony. Nintendo has just been releasing more of the same stuff a.k.a. mario, mario a bit more mario pokemon mario and some toehr stuff XD sony has realy been pushing inovation this year which is nice to see. microsoft didnt realy do much :/

Yeah i know my spelling sucks but im dysgraphic so live with it :3

You do realize this poll is about first party studios, and it isn't about sales.  So I'm not sure why you are bringing up overall software sales.  Even then, looking at Microsoft published games, they no longer have (or never had) Bungie, Ensemble, Bizarre Creations, Epic, Realtime Worlds, Team Ninja, Mistwalker, Remedy, Silicon Knights, iNiS, Screenlife, Zoe Mode, Triumph, Q Entertainment, From Software, Artoon, Blitz Games, also a Gearbox, Eden, and Rockstar games are listed for them as well (I guess they published them in one region).

So that brings the ~73m Microsoft published games down to ~16.2 million from current Microsoft Games Studios.

Now obviously stuff like Halo from 343 will still sell pretty well, but their first party is pretty much down to Lionhead, Rare, and Turn 10 these days.  It's hardly controversial to say that both Sony and Nintendo have better groups of first party studios.  Of course opinions can differ, maybe Fable is your favorite series ever, but even then you can't really be surprised that most people prefer Sony or Nintendo.

Also based on your line of thinking, would you agree that Wii Fit is by far the best game released this generation?  It has almost certainly brought in more revenue than any other console or handheld game.
